If they are going to do a rally like this on NF property it needs to be like the Gambler is done it's not about Speed and they don't keep times it's just who finishs and they need to keep a better hold on things this is what gets areas that we enjoy shut down

And I'm not bashing @Overland_Tennessee for holding the event or the people who done the right thing and respected access areas

I'm just hoping they can learn from this past rally and come up with better ways of doing things and if nothing less just stay away for hot topic area that we are already going having problems with I know Richland road has always been ify but we don't need to make it any worse

My team was going fast on the dirt sections that weren't around homes or camp sites. I'm not ashamed to admit that we drove aggressively. We were very respectful as soon as I knew we were around anyone's residence. We weren't tearing things up badly since my traction control doesn't allow my tires to spin.

On a side note my team did Richland rd in 1hr and 30something minutes.

No need to try to take yourself out of the equation here, no one called you out specifically. Your statements do not help the issue. Tearing things up and pissing off the locals is not limited to spinning tires in front of their house. These are roads that they drive, their children play on, land they hunt on, land they bought to get away from people, THEY ARE NOT A RACETRACK IN ANY FORM or ANY PART.

It was never about speed, but a road rally as defined here:

Wasn't there tying to take myself out of an equation. Just owning up to the fact we were traveling at a good pace on some sections of the dirt roads that weren't around homes or camp sites. There were many times we only did like 4-10mph on dirt and times we were going faster.

I'm sure it will be fine out there, I've been a lot and have spoken with several land owners. Most are just people that like their privacy.

I was out there today with two trucks! Didn't run into any LEO! Saw one local on a tractor and he waved at us! It is important to tread lightly and show respect! I would hate to see it closed off! Maybe a organized trail clean up day would take some heat off!

I would be down for a trail clean up also! I was thinking about this the other day if nothing else it might help our TW group look good with the locals so we can keep enjoying the area

It's not the fact of being out there, the problem is the top end is a private rd. The Watauga County side, Penley rd.

Same easy to moderate condition they always are. You'll do ok, just take it easy at the ledge and off camber just after
