Mine were good until sand got in them after last trip... Now squeaky squeak all the time

 

Thing is its not really a squeak though. My stock leafs squeaked for a while. Super high pitch. This isn't the same.

 

Those who have a seized fill plug on the front diff.... what did you have to do in order to get the facker out?

 

Hit it straight on him a hammer a few time then try again.

Also make sure you have all the crap out of it so the Allen fits snugly.

 

Thought mine was seized, but I was able to use an impact socket and get it out.

 

Man... the fawking thing won't budge.

I'll have to go back to my friend's shop and try again. Didn't clean it out but then again, it's pretty dang clean right now.

 

We snapped one of his mechanic's snap-on sockets trying.

Then we went to the allen. Still nothing.

 

Just beat on them a little. Whatever's grinding will file off or fall off.

 

I would imagine it would snap if you aren't lined up correctly with the socket. Also if the impact has lower settings, try them first.

 

I handed the impact to an ASE certified mechanic. I tapped out after trying to do it by hand.

 

I invested in my own tools, so now I have less excuses. Which also means I spend more time working on things and/or breaking them.

 

Are the retainers rubbing the leaf? Like metal on metal grinding noise?

 

Could be that. It does sound like metal on metal. I'll have to check more when I get home from work.

My buddy just got a diesel canyon and I gotta admit I was not dissapointed in it. We just cruised town, but it was peppy actually and smooth. Said hes getting pretty good mileage.
