I did, they wanted to hold it and give me a Prius until the gasket came in (which they said is on like a national back order)

I told them to call me when it's in, that was like 3 weeks ago.

What's your source? I've heard a refresh is coming, but I haven't seen anything conclusive. The 3.5 would make sense, but all the spy photos and reports have suggested it would stay body on frame to my knowledge.

Yeah don't let them have it. Just keep an eye on it.

I'm getting a whole new rear third member. ("Bad pinion bearing")

I asked for the truck back until they get all the parts.

The hold up....? Diff gasket. Ha!

I had pretty good luck with one I had but I get like four radio stations here. Easy to find a "free" one.

Also I could put my antenna down on my last car so that helped.

That would actually work, but I can't stand the sound. Worked great with my Discman back in the day.

Yeahhhh, the markup on those pros are crazy. Plus what are you really getting over the Trail? (Or off-road, whatever its being called now) Plus... you're gonna want to lift it eventually right? It's like with our Tacomas, the trd pro models and all those other gimmicky special editions give you little more than some flashy badging and a low end off road suspension... go for a lower priced model and build to your liking... just my .02

We bought the 2014 SR5 knowing full well I'd be upgrading components as time went on.

I still use one of those in my Tundra on road trips. Works for the most part and better than station searching every 30 min.

I actually wanted a 1st gen double cab. Not available with a manual trans, which was a deal breaker. Also was looking at the Frontier with a Nismo package (rear locker), but also not available with a MT. The correct options drove my decision. Full size diesel was an option, but wouldn't work with where I wanted to go. A camper was always the plan.

Jeep was definitely not a consideration...

Exactly. I screwed up and was taken in by the shiny things on the showroom. Probably could have had more good shit with the extra money I ended up paying. I blame Tacoma World for showing me the error of my ways, and empty pockets that I have now. And I just got started.
