Got mine installed Friday. It went pretty smooth other than my screw ups and that's typical lol

I will say every instruction was followed and it was very helpful. I will say that tightening down on the backing plate before installing and letting it sit for a few minutes will help hold the plate tighter I feel like. I never had them fall but I was just making sure before I put the dash back together.

And I drilled my holes 3/16 and they worked fantastically.

Love the product and can't wait to go on a trip to put my GPS in it.

I'm happy to report that this product works just fine with my Flyseye V2W-0511 console lights.

yes, I have done the mods
Completed my install on my 2012. Smooth, no hiccups. Fantastic product.

Found it helps to unclip & remove the 4WD switch to get room enough to access the driver's side backing plate.

Toyota did redesign the stereo / A/C vent surround trim panel in the 2012-2015 model year refresh. I'm guessing the intermittent install issue reports with the backing plate not fitting with that little plastic brace protrusion is due to the 05-11 panel being different than the 2012+. In my 2012, there was no plastic protrusion to get in the way, no backing plate trimming needed.

Anyone happen to have trouble after the install with the airbag light coming on, hazards, and the little security lock/ Passenger side airbag light not working? I had one connection that didn't plug into anything on the radio. Seems like that went somewhere.. looks like I'm going to have to tear it all back apart!

Yup, yes you are going tear it out again.
    Probably two or more times.
I never screwed the AB light
I did mine 4x before I was happy with it .

If the leftover plug was a long one, it goes under the radio to the hazards/clock panel.

I am by no means an expert on this but it sounds to me like one of the plugs is not fully seated or perhaps a wire got yanked out of the plug. Based off of your comment about having an extra plug, I'd say start there and find it's proper socket.

I've never had a vehicle with so many damn plugs going into the stereo and surrounding peripherals.

Nah dude. Super simple fix. Just take everything out again and you'll see that you missed the plug that goes into that bar under the radio which houses the clock and air bag symbols. I did the same thing. Just forgot to plug it in.

Finally got my ram mounts order in to mount up my 10" tablet. I haven't gotten a chance to drive on or off road with it yet, but it feels like it'll be plenty solid. I'll update with a review once I get some wheel time with this setup.

Curious to hear your report back. I'd love to run a similar set up for an off road GPS.

That's what I plan to use it for. Oh and for keeping my daughter entertained with movies or cartoons on road trips.

I installed mine the other day. I had to do some trimming on the plastic ribs, then the brackets dropped twice before I loaded them with packing tape. After I did the extra tape the install went fine minus me forcing one screw. I absolutely love this setup. Showed it to a couple friends and they were impressed. Took me about an hour. If I taped the plates proper and didn't have to trim I could have had it done in half that.

I'm not too happy with the tape but it was the easiest / cheapest way I could come up with to temporarily retain the backing plates during reassembly. I like your idea of using packing tape over th backside...

Man you guys are great! Totally forgot about the plug below the radio. Took 5-10 minutes to pull it back out and boom everything is good.

Took a little over 1 hour to install. Easier than I thought it was going to be.

Nice job and Nice Pics Nick.

I think it's odd how some people chose Stainless screws and some chose Black Stainless screws.

My original intent was the silver stainless but most people requested black so I made a change to black oxide SS. I sent out both silver and black with the first sets I had until the silver ran out.
