You can get true leaded fuel at the airport

 

F that noise, you get to pay tolls getting out and sit it terrible traffic for your troubles also.

Never been there. I've only been to Worcester twice. Once to buy a gun and the other time for Monster Jam. It's too far to drive for gas. I'm sure it's a lot easier to get in and out of than Logan, that place is a complete and utter shit show.

 

Logan would be more for avgas anyways since they most deal with jet fueled aircraft

 

Morning. My department has our annual volunteer day today. This year, on this wonderful day, we get to pick up trash along the shores of a pond in Natick. This weather won't make that miserable or anything.

 

I think one of the gas stations on Logan's campus sells ethanol-free gas. It's just way too much of a PITA to get to and from to make it worth it for me though and I work only a few miles away. I've had to go to Massport's offices a few times and it can take me 45 minutes to go those few miles back to my office. The traffic in that part of town is ridiculous.

Hopefully you have the head to toe rain gear! Not sure what it's like in Natick, but on the coast in Boston, rain is coming in sideways.

 

What are you gonna run that in? Unless you have a pre 60s race motor it'll blow up

I was looking forward to this, too. They have kayaks to take out and grab trash out on the pond. Fat chance of me doing that today.

 

I misread what he said at first also, I didn't realize he said leaded. I thought he was still on about ethanol-free which I know they sell at Logan.

Kayak could be interesting today, even on the small pond.

I would never go to Logan or Bradley to get avgas. I would go to a non-commercial airport for it.

Old muscle cars, chainsaws, weed wackers, dirtbikes, basically anything without a catalytic converter. Tree guys use to buy it all the time, and dirt bike racers as well. It won't blow up a motor, may have to change plugs a little more often, but they all swear by it. We use to have 100LL (100 octane low lead) that recipe hasn't changed since the 60s and no ethanol cause at altitude it could freeze up (literally the water attracted by the alcohol) and stall. Had to check for water and contaminants every morning on the trucks and farm, run millipore tests every month for parts per million counts.

This^ you'll find a ton more single piston planes, they run on avgas, and the FBO's there will be cheaper for avgas.

 

There's an airport on the other side of my street in my tiny ass town haha. During the week there might be 1 single prop plane that takes off. If its a nice weekend, maybe a dozen single prop planes will take off/land there.

 

It's great. Never fly to Florida without checking there first. Free parking, no line for security, easy to get in and out of
