finally...deck plate mod!!!!!!!!!!!

i finally did the deck plate mod and my first question to anyone who has done this
1 will i need to change out my air filter more often now that it is mostly exposed?
2 what is the purpose of wanting to cover the hole back up?

i drove it around surface roads just to test it out. throttle response seam to be better but im really hoping to feel the effects on the highway. some extra mpg's would be great
well here it is

 

get an aftermarket airfilter. most people like the pro dry, I use a K&N. that way you can just clean it

 

i believe the reason you can plug it back up, is if you go mudding or in deep water and dont want all that crap getting up in there.

 

Put the plate back in when you know you're going to be around mud, water, etc. Anything that you dont want getting anywhere near the inside of your engine. (not rain)

 

Yeah I got the K&N too. I don't think youll see better mpg anytime soon. Not bc the mod messes it up so much, rather youll be reving higher to hear it. lol Thats how it was for me anyway
