So serious question for you all, I'm considering looking for a roommate. Just to help me pay things off quicker really, but it's not a necessity. Anybody ever gone about having a roommate at their house? Just trying to figure out how I want to handle this. If I post on Facebook I'm afraid some will be like oooo this person oooo this person and it's gonna be somebody I can't stand hahaha, and I don't wanna tell somebody know then have to explain it's cuz I don't like them...so suggestions?

My closest friends either own houses or are married really. I've got a cousin I've thought about offering to, but then that involves more family than I may want...

Most people your age find them a wife...not a roomate :p

JKJK, I would have a hard time letting someone live in my house. Some people are just nasty and never clean up, have baby mamma problems, steal your stuff, eat your stuff...ect. I roomed with someone for about 4 months and the first couple months were awesome but once he quit hanging out with all our friends cause he found a girl it was rough. Always complaining about everything I did like getting home late, 11:00 or so, or taking up too much fridge room when all I had was beer and pizza o_O

Interview people and tell them they will get a call later. Do background checks if it's not someone you know. Better a stranger than a friend. It's difficult to give a friend the boot if need be. Write down a set of rules, and have them sign a copy. Your house, your rules. Don't pussy out if your rules need to be enforced.

In all honesty and reality, be ready to split everything in half. Not just bills, but food, rooms, etc. I could never have a roommate because I am too damn clean and organized. Best of luck tho brother man

Yeah idk if it's worth it completely but I mean I could make money doing it, that's the plus. I really have too much space in my house for just me anyways so sharing space is no issue. I'd basically just want to say hey, you do your thing and tend to all your stuff, and I'll do mine you just pay rent. As long as they take care of messes they make, I can tend to everything else like I already am lol.

If you do it make sure you only sign a 6 month lease at a time.
