Nice looking.. good job on the upgrade.

If i were you, with the regular cab, don't worry about the tires - they scale well to the regular cab. Depending on whether your transmission is automatic or standard, going further up in terms of tire diameter is going to start impacting on your overall final drive gearing, and your acceleration rate from a standing stop.

Next tire cycle, if bigger is your thing - look at the pros and cons, including cost of regearing, whether you are keeping the vehicle a long time, and alternatives like getting another vehicle that might match your needs - or vehicle interests, better.

I'm in for the long haul, 15 years ownership is my goal. 6.5 years in, i'm only getting to final drive re-gearing, and the potential of 31.7"s now. It's right for me.. if i was only planning on keeping the vehicle another year or two... fuggedabout it.. perfectly fine to drive as is with my present 29.3"s (your 235/75R15's are 29" on the nose).

@HackD @Gcsteve It's the devil talking on my shoulder whispering "Who cares about MPG, acceleration, suspension ware, etc". Next purchase will most likely be some off-road traction pads or a flush winch mount for my stock bumper. My overland buddies love winching me out multiple times over a weekend trip.

Mine's been sitting on my shoulder shouting into my ear, "spend ALL the money!!". I know the feeling that you have, starting off with a potential project (and that's what it'll be, if you really get ambitious).

All i can suggest, please read, read, read - make priority lists, jot down technical stuff to refer to as you go along.. but realize it's your money that others are spending for you, showing you lots of tempting things to do to the truck.

    Enjoy.. :)

Got them on Ebay. They take a few weeks to arrive but I like how they break up all the red.

Nah dude. You don't get to self-criticize/self-depreciate like that. There are easier (if potentially more grenadeable) ways to come up with 290 hp with the V-6. The difference in this, is that you are working your way into some pretty serious custom fab work, to bring the torque advantage of a V8 into a relatively lightweight truck platform. That takes serious commitment - hats off to you sir. Keep a build-log going please, when you start digging in.

    Well thank you man!

Not going to start the project right away as I want to do as much preparation as possible before I jump in. (Don't hold your breath on a start date). I will however keep track and take lots of pictures & post a build thread when completed.

I have thought about that swap a lot. It won't be slow! Pretty sure there is a bell housing to bolt our trans right to the 1uz. Exhaust manifold will be tight. The 4runner 2uz manifolds might work. Can't wait to see the progress

Edit. The A340e auto trans bell housing can bolt up, but the input shaft MAY be different. Probably best to use the V8 version of the A340e and adapt it to the truck.

Good info, I appreciate all the help I can get and I knew that the transmission to block issue would take some time. I have a shop that can custom make bellhousings so I'm going to see if I can get than adapter made from my current 5spd tranny to block. If not, I have a w58 laying around but I wanted to save that for my ae86.

Kenda Klever All Terrains. Got them about a year ago and it appears they are already beginning to dry out.

Same ones I got lol I barely got 2800 miles on them and about 2 offroad trips down the hills where I live, the tires started cupping;(

This happened badly to my last dirt commander mt off eBay aswell

I wonder if it's the China tires or because of the open diff bc it appears to only happen to rear passenger.

Does the cuppings happen to major brand tires?
