What kind of fire pit is that and how well does it work? About to head to Colorado with my daughter and was looking for something portable like that to take along:

Don't know if this is what he is using but the cast iron would hold some heat. I always liked these little Char-Broil grills. Everything folds up nice and neat.

It was a full size pad. No cutting. Just unrolled it and fit. I was looking for a queen but the full size was only slightly smaller. A little room on all sizes. But it was a great fit. That was temporary. It didn't have a cover and it got crazy dirty. I just bought this from Amazon:

Winterial Double Self Inflating Sleeping Pad With Pillows / Camping / Backpacking / Travel / 2 person https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F1JFHW0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oNZnzb37J7WJK

I've tested it out on the hardwood floors and it's pretty awesome. And it rolls up and easier to store than a pad.

I just looked at that grill on Amazon and this one popped up on the "similar items" list. Really cool idea. I typically try to cook on the campfire as much as possible when I camp but this is a really cool idea and not very expensive. Hell, you could keep it the truck full time and never notice it. I may have to put this on my Christmas list...

I have the Lodge sportsman grill as well - https://www.instagram.com/p/BS-gLjag3UW/

It's great, but it's hella heavy, and it hold the heat really well. I would recommend it :) one thing to note: it stay hot for a while, so just make sure you have some extra time to chill ;)

How do you like Smitty's RTT?
It's the one I've had in mind due to price. And the video reviews I've seen have been positive for the most part

This is in Sam Houston National Forest, this spot is actually gated and you need a reservation and get the gate code to enter, it's a cool little 'private' lake that you can camp on both sides of

@Rhubarb, the grill (and dude in the pic) is my buddy who owns that grill, it's indeed a Lodge Sportman and it works freakin awesome. Buddy there got it off craigslist for $15 I think. Heavy as shit but if you're not backpacking and driving in, I'd definitely recommend one!

Thanks for all of the great posts guys and gals!!! It's so cool seeing everyones set-ups! Everyone has a vision of the perfect rig and platform and it's just so cool seeing them all! Keep them coming!

Also, whats the best way that most of you transport your Mountain bikes? Do you leave you front wheel on or take it off. What kind of mounts are you using and liking? Any suggestions are appreciated. I need to mount 2-5 to the top of my trailer and need some help from people who use them all the time. One concern I do have is when driving offroad... whats the best kind for keeping them from flopping all over the place. What can handle bumpy roads? Again, we will have full suspension Mountain Bikes... not road bikes.

Thanks again! Weekends almost here... back to the woods we go!!!

https://www.1up-usa.com/ < They make the best bike racks, hands down, and they are made in the USA! They have hitch and roof mounting options. I currently use a tailgate pad on my Taco, and if I have a lot of stuff or bikes, I throw my 1Up rack in the hitch for more room in the bed
