I do this for a living.. and 2 thumbs up bro.:thumbsup:
People don't know how labor intensive a build like this is. And they wonder why their one dollar install sounds like garbage.

Very nice. Let's see a picture of the sub/amp box behind the seats in the truck.

Dangg!! Very nice work! I bet it sounds amazing

Do you have an estimate on cost of equipment & materials? ..doesn't need to be itemized, just ballpark total?

Wait what? Last I heard that one was on indefinite hold because it was going to be really expensive.

rj_taco I am pretty curious in the benefit of sticking with the aftermarket 6x9s up front instead of putting after market 6.5s in all 4 corners. I am wanting to replace my door speakers eventually and have seen others go both routes and would like to know whats going to be my best option.
    I've already got a 10" sub installed

i think Crutchfied says you can do 6.75:s in the rear door, but i haven't tried it.

i have my Focal K2P's split up front and rear and I'm not crazy about it, but there's no easy option for mid subs (like 8's) in the rear door. my solution is to run my 6x9's (an Infiniti 2 way reference model) thru a low pass filter on my HD600/4 to kill the 6x9's tweeter, preserve the front sound stage, and get some mid bass. so far so good but my HU and sub aren't here yet, so it's far from done.

and one question... I'm cranking my HD600/4 to max. never done that before, never needed to. is there a way to adjust up volume when i get the AVIC8200 installed? sorry if this is a thread jack, ignore if so.

There are a few changes for sure, definitely improvements for sure! Id love to find a member who wants to do 4 of them in the back on a 2.5KW amp :)

Whilst this is true, these are 100% tested and rated at 500wrms. Having the head room of a bigger amp allows you to give them a nice clean signal, not pushing the amp to the Max to deliver what we are asking of it.

Your theory of a smaller amp will result in most people pushing that amp to the limits resulting in exactly what you don't want to happen. When that amp, starts to clip the Reg clean sine wave of the ac power output resemebes more of a dc power output and that's why most subs end up dying.

Also, remember that these ratings are based on clamped figures. Not what the birthsheet or what the amps output at a stagnant resistance is. In reality, that 1.4k wired at 1 ohm prob only clamps half that after rise etc.

    Anyways, each to their own.

I'm well aware of Diyma, and the literature. The point I'm making is to not under power them with a small amp, irregardless of the type of amp trying to get output from the subs.

The point I'm making is you want to clamp 1600-2k wrms for 4 subs. Clamp means the actual power the subs see vs well this amp is a xxx amp so it will make xxx power. This way under a clean signal you get exactly what you expect from the subs and don't end up destroying them trying to push the amps harder. Remember, a 400wrms amp can still kill 500wrms subs relatively easy.

I don't want to jam this post up anymore than I already have. Feel free to pm
    Me and discuss

since the job is midway, i'm still on the Entune HU. it's plugged to an LC7 line level converter. i haven't checked the HD600/4's input level setting yet (H or L). Car Toys did the initial install and they are soon taking out the LC7 and Entune and putting in the AVIC8200, so that's when i'll work with the details.

i'm keeping the HD600/4 maybe... not yet sure on this. if i can adjust so there is enough volume up front then i'll keep it. but i'm also considering returning the HD600/4 and getting 2 Alpines bridged at 200w/4ohm, one for the K2P's and one for the 6x9's (although it's overkill for the 6x9's... i have another Alpine i may use to save some cash). i used to use an Xtant4.4 bridged to 200w for the K2P's and it sounded amazing... this is not there yet with the HD600/4 but i haven't tweaked it yet. i would mount that up today but it's huge and heavy and i don't think it will be install friendly with the box Marv is making for me.

not using the 600/4 for a sub... going 13TW5 on a 500/1, already committed. thanks for the reply.
