The 2.7L Single Cab Thread

In my experience the Access Cab and the Double Cab have the same exact curvature and will not fit the regular cab truck; the fiberglass caps will bonk or bash the cab. If you space the cap away from the cab you can make it work but you end up looking funny. This is how an extended/double cab cap looked on my truck, second picture I have it spaced back away from the cab so it didn't hit the cab when driving on a bumpy road.

 

Great feedback, totally makes me want to hold out for the right fit if a Fiberglas cap comes up on Craigslist.

 

I found this side view if you look at the curve not matching the cab you can see why it is a great idea to wait it out!

Money isn't a problem in the swap. I've got $200 in it so far with the leafs and swap kit.

Don't know how much shocks are gonna cost cause I don't know how much wheel travel I'm gonna get yet but I'm more than likely gonna go with bilsteins so they'll be cheap as well.

 

Not bad man, I think the 14" Bilsteins will be $200-220. I figured about $500 in parts then welding costs would be too much money for now so I went with 3 leaf AAL with 11" stroke Bilstein 5125's in case I decide to go with bolt on shackle flip later.

For shock relocation you might want to go the route @Rattletrap66 did to save $$

I got a flat bed. So shocks will be going wherever. Through the bed is fine lol gonna get as much travel as I can out of the leafs.


Still cheaper than a set of all pro expo leafs

From flat ground to straight droop, I have about 10" of travel.

I gotta cut the front mounts tomorrow and center the wheels better which should help the rear angle a tad too. But it's not bad for the first attempt.
