Best motor oil???!!!

    What do these trucks come with stock? I have 2k miles and want to change over to Mobil 1. My truck manual says change every 5k? Does this mean it already has synthetic? Do you change less often with synthetic? Any advice would be great!

    Tacomas do not come with synthetic from the factory. The 5,000 mile or 6 month oil change interval is for conventional oil.

    How many quarts? I'm a car novice so I'll be relying on all the kind souls on this site to guide me right on most fronts. I also need a lesson on load pics as it said it was too big a file to upload?

    Ferrari uses Shell synthetic oils in their cars. I'm sure it will be fine for your Tacoma. JMO.

    Mods are currently being changed .....
    I've always used Mobil 1 in my trucks and in previous cars (the m3 is kinda bound by bmw to run castrol) and never once had a problem. Sooo, if it aint broke, dont fix it :) Mobil 1 will go in the Taco

    Had the first oil change at the dealer. Was a combo oil change and tire rotation for $39.99. They stated it would be extra if a different kind of oil was used. When questioned about the oil, it's Toyota oil and the weight is 5w20. They have it by the drum. Must be a generic oil used for all changes. As an aside I saw them bring in a customer's dirty air filter and suggest to them it needed changing. The price was $24.99.

    If you have a V6, they are supposed to use 5w30. The 2.7 uses 5w20. It probably won't hurt anything, but you may want to look into it.

    Just concentrate on changing the oil regularly and get 5W-30 and it makes no difference what oil you put in it.

    Just checked my receipt and it definitely says 5w20. Unless they printed one thing and used another. Thanks for the heads up. I will ask.
