Are the TPMS sensors on the 5th gen 4runner and the 3rd gen Tacoma interchangeable. In other words can you switch rims and tires and will the TPMS register on the other car or do you need to swap sensors also?

    Thanks

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure they'd work fine.

Just remember you still need a tire shop to pair the sensors with your truck for them to work.

They are different, the 3rd gen taco has unique new sensors and only match that of the new camrys. They will not register.

2nd gen taco TPMS is different from the 3rd gen as well.

Hmm, good to know. I thought they were all the same, at least from Toyota to Toyota!

The third generation Tacoma has the individual tire pressure and location sensor , the 4runner does not. The new Tacoma has a more advanced sensor.

Do you mean individual ones in the wheels?

No , I mean individual display of pressure and location of tire. Each tire and wheel have one sensor.
