1800 miles on the odometer and I'm used to the stiff pedal response. Gotta give it gas sometimes, but nothing to cry over. Getting around 19-20 mpg combined and upwards of 23 mpg on highway runs. I'm proud to own a tacoma and I doubt i'll ever get rid of it.

I understand but a transverse mounted engine is completely different in a front wheel drive , than a Tacoma . do some more research it's not that motor. Just the same 3.5 displacement

I fully agree when I complained about the trans and met with southeast toyota service rep. He told me they were getting shifting complaints but there have been no transmission failures at that time (3 months ago) I've been in the car biz for 24 yrs and bought a tacoma for all the reasons you outlined an I'm ok with this truck if it last half as long as my 93 did.

I had the smoke smell too and the car sales manager told me right before I drove off from the dealership that I would smell a smoke smell until about 500 miles.

My friend just got a brand new Honda Cr-V and when we got out of the car, it smelled like the same smoke I experienced with the Tacoma.. I assume some new cars have this.

A bad ass pedal response with tons of power on a truck that last 5 years or a little more energy to hit the pedal and the truck lasts forever.... i'll take the second one.

The 2017 raptor? I think the TRD pro is one of the best looking trucks I have ever seen, but the Ford Raptor looks way better.
