TRD OR OEM Tires (Goodyear Kevlar) Still Great after 26k mi

Same. 34 cold all the way around. They came Nitrogen filled but my top up was done with 80%~ Nitrogen cause it's free.

 

I recently did a chalk test and indeed, especially when daily driving without any significant load, 30 cold is the perfect psi. Now I'll air up to 34 if I'm loaded down for boating/camping trips but otherwise 30 is a soft ride on the freeway with even wear on the tread

 

What PSI did you find the chalk wears evenly?

I found 30 cold was pretty even but my street isn't perfectly flat. Then I balanced and added 10% + added a touch for the gear I carry (few hundred lbs) and came up to 34 cold. As far as I know that is how you do it.

about 33-34 loaded (for my gear anyway - likely no more than 600 lbs).

They aren't mud tires, I sure learned that.

I'll sell mine, too. they have exactly 51 miles on them from a Pro... 51 miles from the dealer to my tire installer lol. I'd let these go cheap.

Agreed, they turn into a slick the second they see mud

 

Go to Costco we top off 100% nitrogen doesn't matter where you got your tires it's a member service

 

Thanks for that info. I figure it doesn't matter too much as when I inevitably air down I'll be putting air back in.

 

3 out of 4 of the GY wrangler's on my TRD OR had bulges in the sidewalls after 4k miles.

goodyear did replace those 3 tires though.

goodyear dealer replaced them no questions asked after calling corp. HQ.

I think the Goodyears strike a pretty good balance between fuel economy, handling, off road traction, longevity, durability, and looks. A lot of those factors work against each other, so you can imagine the challenge in delivering a product that manages to accomplish all of these things with some success.

For stock tires I think they are a great compromise! I say compromise bc Toyota isn't going to put super aggressive tires on it bc 99% of people don't want the noise from more aggressive tires. Also, mpg plays a huge role in their tire decision.
For me these have been good in the rain and mild off-road. They cake up really bad in the mud but that is to be expected. Probably the best "stock" tire I've had on a truck. I'll wear them out and more than likely switch to Duratracs

 

I like this tire too. Usually stock tires suck. If you look up the retail price for these tires, they're pretty expensive. I considered getting another set, but for the price, I think I can get something better. Considering Duratracs as well.
