I turned on the cruise control today too early and it held 22mph. Is this normal? I thought the lower limit was 25mph.

Also, why is there a lower limit?

One of the reasons there's a low limit is so you don't accidentally hit resume when doing something like pulling into a parking spot or garage and it goes full throttle into the living room before you know what Happened Hahaha.

Mine bottoms out at 23mph......probably stops around there so you can't set it at like 15 in a school zone or something

Huh, I'd imagine it is just a discrepancy between the speed sensor the ECU uses and the one the LCD system uses since it is so close. The LCD/gauges could possibly feed off of the speed data from the ABS tone rings, seen a few vehicles that used those for some auxiliary systems. Or vice versa

I would feel much safer setting it to 20 in a school zone. That way I could stop looking at the speedo and look for children instead.

Edit: our school zones are almost always 20 mph.

And what is the deal with it shutting off when you drop 10-12 mph? It doesn't shut off completely, but loses the setting. Quite annoying when you are just about to crest the long hill, and it quits pulling. Annoying for me, and annoying for the driver behind me!

15 or 20 here depending which school you're next to.

I don't use cruise... On some trips over 2 hours i will occasionally turn it on... But i normally cut it right back off... If all I'm doing is holding the steering wheel i get bored and sleepy...

Generally not quite 75, probably 70-72.

I had mine set at 85 on a road trip to Texas. Speed limit was 80. It did great 22 MPG for the leg of the trip.

    Side note:
I got passed by a black 2017 Corvette like I was standing still.

You averaged 22mpg at 85mph? Did you have a 50mph tailwind? because with a 4x4 DCSB V6 that's likely the only way you did it or your computer is FUBAR'd

My RPM was around 2500 and the MPG meter on the inst cluster was at the 3/4 to full MPG. The MPG screen read the same. I should have had the missus take the picture (picts or it didn't happen). I had a hard time believing this too. A couple of hills busted the cruise control. Shutting it off saved some gas.

On the way back I was getting 16. So 19 on average...just about right.

The wind does effect the truck. Its like pushing a refrigerator at 85 MPH.

I know i took a little hit with my mpg by switching to a 4x4... The sr5 v6 got about 2 mpg better than the 4x4 sr5 v6...

I was averaging 21-23 before and now 19-20.

I do my own math but the truck computer is pretty close to dead on for me...
