Supercharger Problem

Hey everybody, for the past two days i have been working on putting this supercharger in and finally i am done, but several things are left unanswered for me.

1. What hose connects to this, this is on the driver side closeset to the steering wheel.



2. What does this plug into, it is on the passenger side on the edge of the engine block



3. When i finished i put in a gallon new antifreeze and about 3/4 gallon of water. Is this too much? Also in the instructions it said to turn the key to circulate the coolant, but when i did the inner cooler pump came on and made a really loud whining. Is this normal? If you want i can get a recording of the video in about an hour.

You should have called me man.

That cable that you have that's not connected to anything... doesn't connect to anything. That is the connection for ACIS on the stock air surge tank. Its not used on the S/C.

That nipple that is missing a hose is for the PCV system. There is a check valve on the driver side valve cover below the blower, that is where the hose routes from. Check Valve -> Nipple on the underside of the blower.

Yes its normal for the intercooler pump to make that noise. As you circulate coolant through the system, you'll fill it up till the fill port on the reservoir is submerged (you'll get a whirlpool effect when the pump is running).

Thanks everyone, and I did try to call you Jason but everything worked out 110 bucks for the flash and my truck is running the 0-60 in a little over 5.5. I'm soo happy with how it turned out. Thank you both For the help.

 

Just for shits and grins...any idea what kind of mpg your getting when you keep your foot out of it? I figured you would be so proud you would already have driven at least two tanks of gas thru it to show everyone!

 

Like really I think when you don't run boost which is really hard cause it's addicting I think you should just about get the same but I would bet I'm getting 14 right now but I put on a lift and some 33s the day after I got the truck flashed. It is so quick now like it's more useable

 

It was only about a 5 mile drive and I barley used the skinny petal or boost

 

Check into a valvebody upgrade or you can possibly kiss your tranny goodbye with 33s on.

 

What about a regear, what will happen without the valvebody upgrades. I really have never hear of it

 

hey im thinking about getting a s/c. if you dont mind me asking how much did you get it for(did you get it off of ebay). and did you get anything else with it, ive been hearing that some different pulleys and the apr kit are popular.

 

3600 + installation myself+ 120 reflash so about 3700ish. I also bought 3 inch urd cat back, and the 2.825 supergrip pully, both for another 700 i havent gotten them yet so ill update you when i do

Can you elaborate on this? I have 35's but I'm interested in hearing why? I'm not that well versed on this sort of thing.

 

Well if you arent SC'd I wouldnt worry about it. An extra 70some ponies can cause the auto to slip and blow out the intermediate clutch pack. Im not sure if IPT or Level10 offers mods for the 2nd gen autos yet.. The valvebody stiffens up shifts and significantly lowers the possiblity of a slipping transmission.

I know this threads a tad old but I have some questions about the supercharger kit.

1. What comes with the fit kit that isn't included with the supercharger package?
2. Who does the reflash ounce you install it? i.e take it to the dealer ounce I finish the install.
3. Has anyone gotten quotes or know the price of what it would cost to have the dealer install the supercharger as it comes with a warranty that way if I'm not mistaken even though I'm fully capable of doing it myself.
And finally 4. Will this void the warrant of the powertrain by having the charger on. For example I start having shifting problems or the motor ticks or something.

I plan to do the trd supercharger in June along with a catback maby some longtubes and urd ypipe.

 

1. The intercooler, mounting bracket and misc hardware
2. You can drive the truck like a grandpapa to the dealer to get it re-flashed
3. i got quotes between 700 and 1050 bucks to do the install, and since my truck only has about a year and a half on the power-train i didn't mind loosing the 1/2 year of warranty for spending 800ish bucks. It will last through the remainder of the power-train if installed by a dealer.

It seems like i have a problem thread like this every new mod i get. haha

 

I think I'm goin to just opt for having the dealer do it as I have a fresh 5 year warranty and don't want to risk it just because I want to do the install and trust me I do I'm a gear head lol does the kit include a new intake I know the tundra fit kit has a new cai and they said not to bother with the trd cai just wondering because I was goingto buy the trd cai too I'm sure I'll be taking pics and showing off my build as I start it and I'll post up any problems I run into lol although most of the stuff is already here
