not my machine and i'm technically not supposed to download anything or "make changes" so its THEIR problem

there isn't anything on it of value to me in a personal aspect, the job on the other hand, well.... but thats why they have an IT dept.
i pretty much expect the next laptop to either be really locked down or have really random application and service manual look up schemes. Probably both...

currently i can go from one model series and be able to page hop or select from menu where i need the info, the next newer series, i may have to scroll 500 pages to find what i need, i mean we bill by the hour right ? shouldn't be an issue.....

latest battle has been getting appropriate drivers for CAN connections as well as the proper applications to be able to connect to diagnostics on off brand machines. its been fun (not really) Every manufacturer has their own cable and connector.....

my little malady today was more that it decided to do what you saw, when i didn't have a suitable location to connect to power, was running on battery and no real idea how long it was going to take to do its crap ( 10 min it turns out )

Once it finished its lil conniption fit it worked fine and i was able to do what i needed. reset a check engine light and read fuel pressures and injector data after repair, took longer for the computer to do its crap than it did to replace the fuel pressure regulator
