I was thinking the same thing.. It would be like badging my TRD off road as a TRD sport...

I saw a red SR5 (still had the badges on it) and the guy that traded it in had put TRD Sport bed decals on it along with the TRD Sport chrome grille. The salesman had it listed as a TRD Sport. People do with there $30,000+ trucks as they please. After all they are making the payments. Whatever floats there boat..

Case in point. Done a quick search and look how this truck is branded. SR5 as a Sport. No Sport hood. No chrome Sport grille. Isn't that funny?

Yeah the one I saw 2 weeks ago sold. It was the SR5 and it had the SR5 badges pictured like that truck is but had the chrome grill and TRD wheels on it. It never had the Sport hood though. I bet the dude that bought it will be pissed when he finds out his TRD Sport is really a SR5.

Did some cutting to get my full size spare underneath the truck. It's a tight fit but it's nice not having it take up all the room in the bed. I'm running 285/75 r16's

Interesting, never used those plasti dip materials. Do they work just like the original plasti dip and peel off?

    None.
I've used an absorber for years and never noted any micro scratches. How many of those tiny towels does it take to dry your truck?

I don't think anyone is saying one can't put a different badge on their own truck. I'm just curious what the reasoning is behind it. It's not like a Pro badge changes the look of the truck, and it certainly doesn't make it a pro (or a TRD or whatever badges have been added), so what's the point?

edit: I may have missed the answer if it was given.

Second this statement. As long as you wash your vehicle correctly you should be good to go. However Black is the worst color to show micro scratches and swirl marks.

Can't speak for the smoke but the gloss top coat peels along w/ the base coat. The mirrors on my track car have base/clear and the clear actually helps them hold up longer as they stand up to cleaning (de- bugging) better than just the base coat, imo.

I never had an issue with my old one. As long as it's damp and not completely dry.

What size box is that? Been wondering if and how I'd fit a sub in mine. Any modifications made for fitment?

Edit: Also, any rattling against the plastic backing of the seat(s)?

It's the prefab box the JL 8w3x3 comes in. Had to remove plastics but fears back of seats
