Ya, your truck must be pretty heavy with all those nice bumpers. I've heard there's a lot of cutting and trimming for 35's. I'm doing a CMC and trimming this weekend if my new tires look close to rubbing, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Been experiencing the same thing. Hopefully someone can chime in.
Yeah the weight really adds up. The bumpers are a must though. Saved me a bunch of times.

Lots of cutting and pounding to fit 35's. Should be interesting when that adventure starts.

Have you done all the work yourself on your truck? When were you thinking of actually doing 35's?

Only thing I haven't done was the first suspension install (truck doesn't fit in the garage and it was during the winter....) everything else I have done.

35's may be next year. Have to get my ducks in a row for gears and lockers first. I will also need to buy 5 rims....it's going to be costly.

First suspension install? You've done more than one suspension setup? Sounds like you at least have a plan. This is my first tacoma, and they are so easy to just dump more and more money into them. I can't wait until everything I want done to my truck is done.

Oh and how is the long wheelbase on the trails? Any issues with high centering or turning radius?

I did some work on the rear end, front is still the same. its really like 1.5 suspensions lol.

I agree with the money factor but same goes with every vehicle. Just have to build it to your needs.

Right now my needs are for cross country travel and exploring moderate trails. I may be overbuilt for that by it only takes one situations where that one item pays for itself. So far no regrets with anything I have put onto it.

You think you will "finish" your truck....lol it just happens in stages.

Lol that's why I have a high clearance rear, re unforced tranny skid and kick outs. I call it the trail limo for a reason. I have made a few 10 point turns before lol.

Haha, I know I'll never "finish" the truck. But I don't have plans for any major armour. I just want a rear bumper to help with the horrible departure angle. But that being said my new lift and tires should help with that.

Haha, I wheel with a 2 door TJ quite a bit. I'm so jealous of his turning radius, but I couldn't imagine having a long wheelbase on some of the trails we do. Black lake loop in Ardbeg is gonna be a good trail as long as everyone is up for it, I just hope its not super muddy.

Yeah you drive to the vehicle. The fjs and the short bed have a bit of a easier time compared to us with the dclb. Meh it's all a good time.

So true, it's nice to just be out on some trails. I haven't been offroading since November. I'm itching to get out. lol

Haha, "worst case". I only go ground camping. I personally can't justify the cost of a RTT when my $80 tent and air mattress work just fine. Mind you if I had the money I wouldn't necessarily cross it off my list, they are kinda cool.

I hear ya. Last year my girlfriend and I went cross country. We slept in the bed of the truck to stay out of the elements. However this year we are running a fridge (spent so much on ice last year the fridge was justified) so we need to be out of the bed.

For the 15-20 day trips we do we splurged.

@Thyces i think the 16 would be better

I really depends where you camp. I've brought a 12 person tent the last few years I've went to Ardbeg. This year I'm bringing a 5 person.

That's where I'm planning on camping but if it's not where we'll be wheeling I'll find somewhere closer

Thats fairly close to the trail. 5-10 minutes I believe. I'll be camping on black lake if I can find a spot. There is a nice spot 45.637790, -80.170869 and its pretty much right next to the trail.
