First, let me say that this site is f#*kin addictive! . . .So here is my 2005 Tacoma TRD off road. I don't really have any before pics to show what it looked like stock(though I'm sure you all can imagine it;)). Here is a list of mods that I have done so far:
    -3" trail master spacer lift
    -18" rockstars with 275/ 65/ 18 SXT MT's studded
-One off rack system and box
-Grom ipod adapter to factory HU
And that is about it. Let me know what everyone thinks. And I apologize in advance if the pics don't work right. . .this is my first thread.

I know that the rockstars are kinda overplayed, but I really liked the look of them, so I recessed the center caps and painted the star flat black to match the rest of the rim. I love how it turned out, plus it kinda sets them apart from the rest.

Even though they rub a tiny bit, I left the mud flaps on (for the intended purpose). I did trim the front inner plastic though.

I re-purposed the gutter mounted roof rack system off of my old TJ into a rail mounted system for the bed. I just drilled two holes in each bracket and fastened it to the rail with two washers that fit into the track and wing nuts to tighten it down. Its pretty easy to take on and off/ move around.

The only interior mod so far is a Grom Ipod adapter. I love this mod. After going through several fm transmitters, I finally stumbled across this unit. It allows control of the ipod with the factory HU and steering wheel controls, and I can still use the 6 disk changer in the dash. The install was super simple and only took like 10 minutes total (thanks to some info i found on here about how to remove the HU). Crystal clear sound. No more static!

    Future mods:
-Coilovers (spacers are kind a stiff)
-Firestone air bags/ hd shocks in the rear
-Custom air intake of some sort
    -Flowmaster 40 exhaust
    -Dual batteries
    -Color matched/ recessed grille
    -Some off road/ driving lights
All input and/or advise will be much appreciated. :)

Thanks! I feel like I got lucky with the black paint color. It was just some flat black that I had from a different project, and it ended up matching the rim perfectly. I was pretty stoked.

I just looked at 'stereo install' under the Mods and Tutorials section to see how to remove the head unit. And the GROM unit is literally just plug and play. Its sweet, super easy, and costs about the same as a high end FM transmitter. I would highly recommend it.

What tires are you going to put on to replace your studded 18" rockstars with 275/ 65/ 18 SXT MT's when we have to take our studded tires off by April 1st?

Thanks man. I am just gonna have the studs pulled out of these ones. The sxt MTs come pinned for studs if you want them. I have never run studs, but when I bought them at the beginning of winter I opted for studs instead of siping, for about the same price per tire.

Thanks. I believe they are 4.5" BS. . . if I remember correctly.

So I had the studs removed from the tires a few weeks ago. Man what a difference in road noise. After getting used to the noise of the studs, they seem damn near silent now.

I have been way out of the loop for a while( a few weeks). Its good to be back on TW regaining a bit of momentum for some more mods in the very near future. . . :)
