I test drove a trd off road tundra crewmax (inferno) those things are huge! Even made my 2012 crew cab ram I was trading in seem small. I just didn't really have the need for it I guess. Nice truck, but no incentives like right now Ford/GM/ram all have huge discounts. Ram is offering 25% off entire line right now!

longer wheel base isn't that much of an issue. I've been on some tight trails without problems. I like having passengers in the cab and all the crap in the bed. I like cars and trucks. I've gone away from SUV's. I like having peace and quiet without all the cargo clanging around in the cabin. ESPECIALLY camping crap. nothing like driving back from a trip with that grill sitting in the back and smelling rancid grease that would can't wash out until you get home. Or, wet tent. The first camping trip we came back from after we got the truck was great. Heard nothing, smelled nothing. Everything was in the bed. I really like that level of seperation between gear and cabin that I didn't have with SUV's.

Can't say much about it as a daily driver since I don't drive to work, but my wife doesn't mind riding in it, which is saying a LOT.

True , I can get a new 4Runner and a new Taco for the same price as a loaded F350 or a ZL1 or hellcat. Some of the new off-road ATV's are almost $30,000 now. guess it all depends on what's important to you and how you want to spend your discretionary money. I like the idea of the two Toyotas Lol

That hasn't been my experience. I drive up on the interstate, see how the vehicle accelerates, through some rough downtown roads. You just got to tell them I'm not buying until I'm sure this vehicle does what I expect of it. Until you sign on the dotted line you're the boss.

I don't need to reread shit.

If you reread mine you'll see that I never claimed you said there were no problems.

Toyota fubar'd the 3rd Gen. They took a truck that had several known problems, "redesigned" it, and introduced more problems without fixing the old ones. lol

Right. You need the spend $650 on the tow package to get to reasonable towing numbers on a truck.

Interesting, the Tacoma is made in Mexico, and the Hilux in India/S. Africa/Thailand. Doesnt sound like Toyota cares too much about the build quality of their flagship trucks. WTF?!

Meanwhile, All 4Runners have been built at Toyota's Tahara plant at Tahara, Aichi, Japan, or at Hino Motors' Hamura, Japan plant.

As others have said, I think the biggest question is whether you need a bed or not. I've had several SUVs and realized I could really use a truck bed.

I couldn't be happier with my 3G Tacoma. It's my daily driver and I've had zero problems with it. Best vehicle I've ever owned.

It was the best truck I've ever owned. By far the best ride, power and features.

:rofl::rofl: Says a dude without a 3rd gen. Sorry buddy, but no recalls here and no issues. I got my '17 for ONLY ~1500 more than a used 2nd gen - no brainier. Oh, and I haul stuff my my truck, you know use it as a truck. Can't do this with a 4Runner and not MT. $runner loses big time for me.

    Cheers
