Bed storage container ideas

Picked up two myself after seeing this thread and they fit great. Only issue i ran into with my extang encore was that i cant push it all the way to the back or front because the encore has the latch bars running across that will hit. So i have them sitting in the middle of the bed with a cargo bar in front and back to hold them in place. Doesnt bother me because i can flip the back section of my tonneau and still utilize that dead space. I still also have some room in the front when folding down the tailgate to put crap there as well.

 

Been looking to add some storage space to the bed... Something small that wouldn't get in the way and also fit under my BakFlip F1 cover. Really liked the idea of the ammo can storage boxes alot of the 2nd gen guys do, and how it incorporates into the bed rail system. So I kept an eye on eBay for about a week and finally saw this:





Figured I could do something with that, and it's about the size I was looking for. So paid $35 and turned it into this today:











Used a pair of Relentless Fab dual quick fist mounts, which I had to mod the shit out of because unbenounced to me the side bed rails were dropped when the dealership put the BakFlip cover on, when I bought my truck; so none of the holes matched up... Anyway some drilling here and there, and a couple 1/2" x 3" stainless bolts, washers and spacers, and it mounted up nice and tight.

Good size for a few tools or whatever I may need to throw in it. Currently it's holding my 30 ft. Bubba Rope and shackle, which fits perfect.

 

Hey bud. Did this end up fitting in between the wheel well arches? I measured 42.5 inches on my bed but the product specs says it's 44 inches.

My bet would be the 44" is measured at the top/lid, and it looks like the sides are inset a bit and tapered, so I'd guess it should fit fine.

What was this box called in the listing on ebay? I have been trying to find the same thing with no luck.

 

Think I searched something like military storage box, something along those lines... Was the only one that looked like that, but there are all kinds of shapes/sizes. Just got to find something you think you can work with, and go from there.
