Maybe like 4-5 guys on the whole island has RTT? Beach camping like bellows should be fine, or up at peacock flats.

This past weekend at Bellows was crazy windy.... at least at our campsite (#1) right close to the water. with the tent on top of the truck or bed, nothing really could be a wind block.

I even bent one of my arb awning arms when the room was attached to it. Good thing they make replacements...

I was wondering about that. for Big Island, at least where we fish/dive/camp, RTT would be taking the full force of the wind for like 8-10hrs, which is pretty scary considering the cost of it. plus, no shade :bananadead: they look pretty sick though, but maybe better for forest kine camping, like Peacock or up the mountains?

The damn Horse flies! They're terrible.... cockroach size black flies that bite like a mother. We have "green heads" which are just as bad, they're smaller, but leave bites larger than mosquitoes.

    stuff...
Yesterday I saw a FJ with a tepui rtt. It looked really high, and when I got closer, I could see it was mounted to the oem rack... Looked so sketchy. That oem rack is only rated for 165lbs!

Those things must create a lot of wind resistance too. I wonder how much horizontal forces are exerted onto the rack when driving with a headwind?
