hmmmm well shit... How long did you leave it in the freezer and also how cold is it where you are working? I know getting a hammer and the bearing tool its a lot of finagling since its a little awkward. But yeah 30 mins is a lot for that much sticking out still. You dont want to drive it all the way home there should be a gap between the bushing and the spider gear

I figure it was 1/16"-1/8" on the high side.....it was in the freezer for a couple hours and it was only 25*C today. See below for how mine looked....

This is what mine looked like today....it wouldn't go in any further so I said Fu*k it and re-installed the CV. I haven't taken it for a drive yet but everything seems to be back together as it was before the ECGS bushing.

Have you had any problems with yours since the install? I'm worried that mine may be in too far (since I hammered it in pretty good) and will contact the spider gears. It felt good in there before I put things back together....fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Ok yeah it shouldn't sit flush. Yeah I mean it was warm out and sitting in the freezer that long should have made it easy. Did you feel on the back side of the bushing to see how much gap was between it and the spider gear? From the pic it almost looks good to go

It didn't appear to be hitting the spider gear....I felt around and around about 20 times (not exaggerating) and it felt like the factory one did before I pulled it. I just hope it's not too far because I tried to get the ECGS removal tool behind it and I couldn't. I emailed ECGS so hopefully they'll get back tomorrow to confirm success or tell me I f*uked up.

The CV spun very easily and it didn't feel like there was anything binding or metal on metal feeling. Test drive tomorrow :anonymous:

ECGS got back to me and said that the bearing should sit flush but will still be on the bearing surface of the shaft and if the CV clipped in, all should be ok.

I think I'm around 1,000 miles right now maybe a bit more. Truck has been solid averaging 18-19mpg. One tank was 20mpg. I finally got around to running my gps while driving and found that they do throw the spedo off quite a bit now. If it says 60mph indicated I'm really doing 65. So I've back my speed off so I'll see how this next tank does.
I'm very happy with how everything turned out. Now when this wear out I'm not 100% sure I'll re run the size just cause the cost of the tires. But I'll see how many miles I'll get out of them and then make the call

Same with me about tire size for the next ones. Running the same as you and think I will go skinny and tall next time.

It's either re-run same size or drop it slightly to a 255/75R17. Otherwise I've been super happy with these. Little tire howl but honestly not that bad. Falken did mention to me they have a 255/80R17 coming out so super curious about that

That does sound promising. Wonder if they have a 16 designed? :anonymous:

I forgot to ask haha one would assume so though. He didn't go into to much detail. I mentioned the two sizes I was debating on, and he mentioned that something interesting would be coming out with the 255/80 series
