    Wouldn't you like to know!
Asked a buddy of mine in CO if he had done the alpine loop and the only thing he said was that his T4R was almost too wide in some spots so the Raptor may give you the same issues being wider. Just FYI @qxrtz4321

One of my moms friend will take their Raptor out with Jeeps and I haven't seen any body damage on it...

However, if I go out with Zeb, we'll probably want to do some harder trails... the last run was fun, but it was pretty much park roads all day. We'll happily take those willing to use their sliders, though :D

    Stuff like this:
    IMG_2086.jpg
    IMG_2097.jpg
    IMG_1229.jpg
    IMG_1236.jpg
    IMG_1237.jpg
    IMG_1210.jpg
    IMG_1197.jpg

There's a reason my skids look like this...
    IMG_1632.jpg

Just for a gauge.. Jody's Revenge, the harder way to tower, should be a "no issue" obstacle. Granted it was wet, just wanted to give some perspective for if we go out again with a group of guys wanting to use their armor...

Not most of 'em... Here's my kinda "classification"

    Trails I won't touch:
    • Stonehenge
    • No Name
    • Jeff's Playground
    • Axle Buster
    • Keystone Canyon (buggy destroyer)
    • Loose Rock... aka "YGF" (You're Gonna Flip)
Challenging trails, rear locker and armor needed
    • Midnight Run (should be rated higher, this trail destroyed my truck because I lost my cool and got irrational)
    • Carnage Canyon (the real line)
    • Wet & Wild
    • Wildcat Stairway
    • TRO
    • Royal Gorge
    • Greenhorn 2
    • The Offering
Trails you don't need a rear locker but should have one, armor isn't NEEDED but recommended... at least sliders
    • North Pole
    • Int. Hwy
    • North Peak
    • Baby Back
    • Greenhorn 1
    • Green Mile (this trail is such a bitch when wet)
    • Jody's Revenge
    • Snoopy Falls (I hear it got super chewed up though)
Everything else at HF i'd probably try in 2wd... unless i'm forgetting something. So many stories on so many of these trails hahahaha

Thanks for this. Kinda takes away some apprehension as I feel there's plenty for me to do until I get armored up. Good info!

Np, i'm always happy to ride along. Helping new people is always fun, but sometimes you just gotta be on 3 wheels the entire time to have fun :D there are trails like Carnage Canyon you can technically run it, and the bypasses aren't bad and you can stay you did it, there's a "real line" though that is my favorite trail in the park. Creek trails (TRO, Royal Gorge, Greenhorn 1&2, Toyota (which is still closed I think), and I guess technically Bronco Buster) are just impassible after a deep rain. Guys on 42s will be happy to go chew it up for ya, though. I did TRO after a light shower and my headlights spent almost the entire time underwater...

If I was starting out, i'd attempt the third tier with a rear locker and sliders. With a truck with a wheelbase as long as ours, and the IFS that refuses to move up front sometimes, sliders > EVERYTHING. Sliders > Tires > gears/lockers > skids > "lift" > everything else. @Toyboata managed to make it through half of TRO, half of Wildcat (but had to winch :brianr:), and I think we've done Greenhorn back when he was unarmored. But was still locked in the rear.

These ratings are assuming you have a trusted spotter as well. Green Mile doesn't look hard but can be such a bitch sometimes, especially when its wet. A spotter will get you up, because its a trail you legitimately have to "warm the rocks up" until you grip and get up. Jody's Revenge has a lot of "real" lines on it as well, including two bypasses. I took @Texoma down one of the more challenging lines and he seemed to enjoy it :D

Even if you're locked and armored, i'd still suggest against TRO (staple HF trail, unpredictable as fuck), Wet & Wild (it gets chewed), Wildcat (be ready to get off camber and winch), and Midnight Run... Midnight Run is a hell send. I probably won't run it any time soon again. A lot of people accidentally end up at The Offering trying to get to the fence line and its hard to spot. I've had two Jeeps almost roll on me on the west side (one got legit sideways on the trail and if we didn't hook a winch to him previously ON HIS SLIDER he would've flipped and would probably be dead. I've gotten stuck between a ledge and a tree on the south side before... I romped it and just couldn't make it up, the trail throws you sideways until you're eventually on the opposite end of the ledge you tried to make it up originally.

Baby Back is always a fun one for the more ballsy... nothing is really needed except a set of testies. North Pole to North Peak is the other stable trail, known as the "fenceline", which is just driving along the northern fence. I've heard its gotten pretty chewed up, since all the mud/silt/shitty shit just erodes. Its not really much rock... however, get far another northwest and you can blast around in some always stagnant mud.

Those trails I wouldn't touch, I probably wouldn't even try most when I SAS the Taco and put 37s under it. Loose Rock is a death sentence, BJ Baldwin came to HF and his ENTIRE TEAM couldn't get his 4WD demo truck up it. The truck was a fully built unlimited class 4WD truck adapted to have double low range, was sitting on 37s. I know a lot of y'all know Angie, the one with the two 4Runners and one is beaten to living shit... the reason her wheeling one is beat to shit is because she's rolled twice on Loose Rock. No one has made the real Stonehenge line in 6 years. Keystone Canyon will destroy Dana 60s. DANA 60S. Don't even look at it the wrong way.

The last time i've wheeled my truck at the park though was about 4 months ago... and i've heard things have gotten chewed up. I prefer Wolf Caves, and don't know how many more times i'll take my truck as it sits right now to Hidden Falls, since i've stewpted to trying things in reverse and in 4hi...

There definitely is. Zeb and I were apart of a group that had been out, little experience, no real armor, some weren't even lifted, and we had a days worth of entertainment easy... I'm just not as familiar with the easier trails since I rarely run them unless i'm showing someone around the park.
