If you encounter an aggressive dog, take your leash from your dog, wrap it behind the ears on the neck of the aggressive dog, step through the hand strap and pull from the other end with both hands. Once the aggressive dogs air supply is cutoff, they have to let go. You also have control of their head when they let go so you are protected.

    And here come the quotes.

Thanks. It's the owners fault 100%.

    Thanks brother.

Large breed dog most likely a pit mix. Can't say bad things about pitbulls, I currently own 2 and have always had pitbulls my entire life. It's the owners fault that the dog is the way it is.

Thanks man. If I could find her......

After talking to the Police and Animal control they stated that I can do anything in my power to protect my dogs when another dog is coming at them. With that being said, I always carry a knife on me and had I been there that dog wouldn't be alive today. Most likely I'd still be in the same boat with my little Chole as my wife is pretty sure her neck was snapped the second he grabbed her.

I've been looking into ideas on what to carry. They suggest a baton which I already have so I'm carrying that and my FNP .40 for the last resort. I really don't want to kill a dog but I'll never let this happen to any of my dogs ever again. I've also been looking into this company. https://www.coyotevest.com/ Could of possibly saved my dogs life and they look freaking awesome.

    Thank you.

I hope worse things than that happen to her. But I like where we are going with this :)

I feel you on the allergies brother. Mine have been going nuts for 2 weeks now :( Police can't do anything with out the license plate. My wife was alone walking them, didn't have her phone. They tried to call 911 on some other ladies phone but it wasn't working. During that time the owner of the attacking dog left. I've combed our neighborhood for days looking for leads. We've had friends reach out to friends who've reached out to friends. Nothing. 99% sure the name she gave my wife was fake. Unless we run into her, we'll never see her again and she gets away with killing my dog.

Thank you. I really hope one day we run into her. Otherwise I'm banking on Karma to do me a big solid on this one.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure had I been there and this happened I'd of been in a jail cell. I'd of snapped. I did snap but she already was gone. Hell I'm ready to snap right now and it's 8:40am. The egg fell off my fork "Fuck you egg!".... I can't tell you how much rage and anger I have in me that just will not go away because she got away with this.

Thank you. My wife said the dog wasn't on a leash. She had another dog but that dog just walked around and sniffed stuff. She said it had no interest at all in what was going on but that dog wasn't on a leash either.

As for getting the dogs off the ground. I'm working on that as well. We are down to two now and I've been taking apart the retractable leashes to see if I can make them a lot quicker/faster. Dogs have soft harnesses being made to fit them perfectly. Dogs come, hit the button, two dogs get pulled up super fast. It might hurt the little ones a bit but I think it's better than option B.

Thank you. I hope your dogs are ok from the attacks. Was it other peoples dogs that attacked? I see people at the park all the time with their dogs off leash. I'm sure I saw it a lot before and just never noticed it. Now it's everywhere. I'll tell them to put their dogs on a leash and they always say "My dogs is the sweetest, blah, blah, blah". I tell them my story. They shut up and put their dog on a leash. It's a law people and this isn't the dog park.

I wish I could find her. I can't tell you how many TW people have reached out and helped me. The AZ section alone got me over 20 addresses with in an day to help me out. None of them have panned out most likely due to her giving us a bullshit name.

Thank you for the tip. The issue we ran into is once the big dog had my little dog it was too late but this is good to know when I walk my big dogs.

    -----------------

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I appericate the TW community and all it's done to help me try and make this right. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll ever find this lady unless fate one day decides to put me in her path. All I can do now is keep looking for ways to prevent this from ever happening again.

We still have these two little girls that cheer us up. And our big dogs as well.

@Aw9d Make sure you give the other four extra love. They are missing their sister too. I am so heartbroken for you and your wife.

Thank you. We've been spoiling the shit out of them. The real bummer is that we had to put another dog down down the first of this year. He got cancer and it wasn't tragic. But he was the brother of Chloe who got killed recently so it's hitting us hard. Those two dogs we adopted when my mom's friend died of cancer years ago. At least they are together again.

@Aw9d So sorry to hear the story about your pup man. That really sucks. I carry everyday, everywhere. This is a great example of why.

I was walking my Rottie through my neighborhood two nights ago and someones dog came at us from their open garage. The dog was growling and barking and came at my dog full run. It got the bottom of my foot. It came again while its owner called for it. I shoved it away again while yelling at it. It finally relented and nobody got bit.

Had it not turned away or anyone been bit is have shot it dead.

The problem there though, and the reason i hope that never happens, is then you are armed, angry/fearful, and the dog owner is upset that you just killed 'their' baby.

Maybe call the local news station and have them do a story on it. Maybe someone will rat her out - dangerous dog and all :notsure:

    :facepalm::facepalm:

That's why I carry the Halt. Spray the dog and it goes away and no one gets hurt. I had a lady one night tell me to quit kicking her dog - I wasn't - I was using my foot to keep her dog away from mine. I told her to bring him back and I 'd show her what a kick would do to her dog  and told her he should be on a leash.

This works well if you can get the leash off and your dog doesn't bolt. Me? I've dealt with this before and without using the leash. I think I might want that leash instead.

You can leave it on your dog and still do the same thing.

His has happened 3 times to me...two of those times were from my neighbors little dog. She was also just attacked recently by a group of dogs.

Kona just turned 11 months and retired from service dog training yesterday. Rough day but she will be much happier as a pet.

I'm thinking you might not be understanding the time I'm recommending this method. It would be when the aggressive dog has a hold of your dog trying to kill it. They're not going to get much closer than that.
