    washed it. I needed to clay it to remove some tree sap. After I hit that with sap/tar remover and clay...nothing is coming off. I'm trying to think what it could be. There have been tons of freeway repairs here, so I suppose it could actually be asphalt.

    Anyone got tips to remove it? I'm probably just gonna take it to a detail shop and spend the coin to have a pro do it.

    You're supposed to just spray Gunk engine bay cleaner all over it (2 cans worth) and let it sit for a bit then hose it off... Then spray armorall on everything and close the hood and let it run for a bit... It looks like you cheated and cleaned by hand

    Try clay bar, hit it with a light polisher (blue pad) and apply wax afterwards. There is a clay bar kit by Meguiar's you can find at Walmart or Amazon for about $20. Good luck!
