Thats pretty damn cool. I appreciate that is shows there's a lot more work than driving around. And this guy hustles too. No slow dawdling for him.

 

In my yard it was a 100-door terminal break bulk facility. During the busiest times of the shift, there were 4-5 of us flying around the yard at night, plus random drivers all over the place. Constant radio traffic between all of us and 4-5 dock supervisors, too. All the hostlers wrote down every "move" from the supervisors and worked down lists. Depending on where we all were, we'd pick off the moves closest to us and most urgent in priority and be calling all that back and forth. There were about 3 other guys I loved to work with because we read each other minds and all had great situational awareness and sense of efficiency to minimize wasted movement. If I was breaking a set, I'd check to see if I could drop the con gear in front of the next set being built rather than the pool, etc. When we were humming, one guy would be barely be clear of pulling an empty out of a door as I slid behind him to back in the next trailer, and that door would be empty for only 10 seconds or so. And if there was an empty to be pulled near me, all the others would be expecting me to pull it next, etc. We drove knowing that the other guy wouldn't be in that spot when I arrived at it. Fucking greasy, smelly ballet.

 

This was in Philly. They've since all been arrested.

See, I disagree with this. Just like I disagree with coddling and "counseling chomos and mashers. These people are broken and no amount of "be yourself" and "hug therapy" will fix them no matter how high the expense placed on the taxpayer. Just accept that they are broken, swiftly dispose of them permanently, and move on.

Here we have a disabled man who is actively employed getting beaten up by four non societal contributing a-holes. Maybe actual hard labor, not the current form of punishment but actually hard labor, breaking rocks, building stone and rock bldgs for the prison or something, so at the end of their sentences they can look back and say I've contributed positively to society and don't want to contribute like that every again, while wearing their pink rompers...
So tired of all the excuses....
