I went Satin, its the perfect blend between flat and not shiney. The pics make them look more shiney than they are.

285/70/17's on FJ wheels. Painted with Duplicolor Wheel Coating. I did this to my old tacoma wheels and it held up awesome. Very easy to touch up too! I had the FJ TRD anthracite wheels before and I personally like these better :)

My camera SUCKS. Its actually not a camera, its a cell phone. I washed up the truck, took some better pictures. I like the gunmetal wheels and the indigo truck. I've got some AVID gear that I painted and screwed up, once school dies down I'll be repainting it the same color as the wheels.

OEM running boards and roof rack. Yellow fog bulbs and WeatherTech mats and window visors.
Got a quote the other day for all 4 mounted and balanced with an alignment for around $1000. Does that seem decent?

I've never heard of the "chalk test" but it sounds like you chalk the ground, run over the chalk, then see how much of the chalk is on your tires.

What about centrifical force at higher speeds? The tire will expand and not be at the same shape as it was during the chalk test.

    Just curious. :)

The other way 'round. You draw a chalk line on the tire. And as far as I can tell from the chalk line tests, it's just a way to get pretty close to optimal tire pressure. At higher speeds, yeah, the tire would change shape. It also changes shape at lower speeds and while turning corners. The chalk line test just kind of sets a close average or a best guess.

That's the way I understand it anyway. And if I'm wrong someone will be along shortly to correct me and point us both in the right direction.

Quick question: I just installed Goodyear Duratracs 265/70/17, XD revolvers, rear TSB, 5100 fronts, 5125 rears and Toytec AAL for rear TSB. I'm heading to firestone to get my alignment since they have a lifetime special. What are the numbers I'm looking for my alignment? Factory specs? Thanks your help is appreciated!

    Like E said above,
you chalk about a 1-2 inch wide stripe across the width of the tires. then take a short drive and look at the chalk lines.
If only the center sections look warn off, they are over inflated.
If the outside edges look more warn off, they are under inflated.
Your looking to get a even wear pattern accross the whole tire.
Plus your also checking on how the truck feels and drives at the different pressures.
You want to get a good wear pattern and have the truck driving smoothly.
With different people having different accesories, different tires and sizes, different driving habits, there will be a difference in what everyone puts in their tires.
But this is just a good tool to get a real time visual display on what psi is good for you and your truck.
