What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Was just thinking I'd go update and put my name in there since you put that. If my parents named me that being born in Nebraska, it would've been interesting

 

Full tune up including timing belt, water bracket and all fluids and took ir for a ride. Purrs like new.

 

Got my Rat products skid plates mounted.

 

Now that's what I miss about the bay area!

 

Think this is one of the only places in the country where you can drive three hours in either direction and be at the beach or in a snowstorm.

 

Same with Seattle area

 

I love how there's a city in Washington named Tacoma.

 

The "Aroma of Tacoma" has a history of Puget Sound funky smells.

 

@Speedytech7 hey so I pulled my sway bar a couple weeks ago, mainly so I could replace my links and bushings. I have no intention to leave it off extended period of time but I was driving down a forest dirt road this evening. It has been recently graded and had a berm on the inside edge I didn't see due to the sun, I caught it hard on a inside turn doing 25-30 and felt the truck react much different than it would have prior to pulling off the sway bar. Nearly rolled it but fortunately the bar ditch hadn't been cleaned so it's pretty full recovered and cleaned my shorts. Anyways I was wondering if your sway bar was off too, thoughts if it was a contributing factor?

 

It was off, has been for three years. I am sure in one way or another it contributed but in my case it was poor reaction to a turn I entered too fast. I locked the rear brakes and that sent me toward the berm in the first place. My truck has felt super planted in the front end for three years, I have a heavier than stock spring rate with the Icons that makes up for the lack of a sway bar. I actually had very little body roll in fast turns this last time was poor judgement and excessive speed for the conditions.

 

Did you already order links by chance? I had an order mishap and now have an OEM Passanger link brand new that I need to get rid of.

 

I been debating painting my exhaust tip with black high temp header paint or just taking my sawzall to it at the axle tomorrow
