spare tire mount

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    has anyone seen or come up w/ a secure way to mount the spare out of the way on the bedsides or via the rail system? i'm thinking about removing mine to add a 32" to it and then possibly have some duals run out the back, but dont want the spare just chained in the back

    how are you planning on running the duals hodgey??? just remember that with them straight back........chance of tearing them up is increased. we are speaking of exhaust right??:eek:

    hahaha....me too man!!! if you do go with duals, maybe have them angled out behind each wheel. it looks good, and the spare will probably still fit.

    i prolly should have mentioned that i'm looking for something to do on the cheap...lol. i might just do a chopped exhaust like pb's or something...dunno...i had a chopoped flowmaster on my dropped xtreme and it was pretty nice

    I think I'm going to try and fit a dual out the back and leave the spare where it is....I'm not sure how it'll work out- but I want to try that insted of moving stuff around.

    it CAN be done.................when i had mine done on the 06 i had..........the exhaust shop was lazy in the install!!! dont let a shop tell you it cant be done!!!

    nah.......dont have any good pics man, sorry. they ran the pipes over the axle, then straight out the back, but they took the spare off cause they were lazy with bending. the next shop i went to said......its a piece of cake to bend the pipes so the tires could stay there. but i ended up removing my duals, and just having a single in/out flow 40 installed, so i could put the spare back under there. still sounded great tho.....just a little quieter since there wasnt as much piping for the sound to travel thru. when you gewt yours done.....if you do, cant wait to see it man!!

    Yeah....I'm doing some painting (the new grill should be here and blacked out by late next week...and the tires not long after that...) and then I'l be taking the first pics. The pipes will be a bit longer....but I'm going to figure out how to do true duals....I'll be sure to post 'em up when I do!!
