So, I like the upgrade well enuff except for the fan speed control knob kinda slops back and forth. I was going to pull the metal thingy out of the old knob and put it in the new one... anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out?

    yep..
It seems that lot of people have had better results by wrapping the pin in something, like a piece of plastic baggy/electrical tape to take up the slop.

    yep..
I used a doubled up square of sandwich baggy then pressed the knob over it. Nice and tight.

Do they get loose over time?... I put mine on and there is absolutely no play or slop in them at the moment

Nice!!! Tons of people have done/are doing it in some pretty cool ways.

    Definately a fun, inexpensive mod

Only thing is mine is '10 so I think the stock bulbs are a orange/reddish. Looked up a nod to get them all brilliant white but it looks like a big undertaking

I'm getting a set of these today from NAPA.
Hopefully they don't melt as well.

Did they seem like they will hold up? I think I am about to pull the trigger on that same set.

The knobs are pretty nice. Even if you have to put a piece of Teflon tape on the posts to make them more snug (I didn't have to but others on here did), it's the easiest, cheapest mod you can do... other than just unbolting stuff off your truck but that requires tools while this doesn't!
