    @totmacher I changed my trans fluid today. What a pain in the ass. I removed 12qts, and replaced 13.75qts. The fluid that came out was brown and looked pretty poor. I replaced the Toyota trans cooler with a larger bar/plate one which MIGHT account for a half quart of fluid. That means my trans was at least a quart low, if not more, from the factory. The thing that pisses me off the most about that is I asked them 10,000 miles ago to check to see if it was low. Doesn't appear they looked. So far it's running about 30 degrees cooler and shifting nice and smooth. I'm seeing temps around 135-145 on average. I haven't taken it more than 5 miles on the interstate though to see what it might warm up to.

    What's operating temp? Running too cool can do as much damage, if not more, as too hot.

    how many miles on the fluid?
    Mine looked ok color-wise but i did a drain/fill at 25k and now flush at 45k.

    Once you've had it out on the highway more on hot days, let me know how temps are. Mine holds 170-ish on hwy but jumps to 190 pretty quick in traffic on hot days.

    Been wondering about a bigger cooler or at least relocating stock for more direct airflow instead of it being behind the bumper.

    I'm not too worried about that, because the fluid runs through the radiator also. Should be able to get it warm enough no problem. I haven't driven it more than about 20 minutes at a time so far, and in cool weather. It's definitely running way better than it was though.
