    Yep I am the Alpha and think even the young guy gets that already. Smart and quick learner he has had some obedience training apparently. And thinks he is a lap dog put a stop to that already (unless invited). Right now every time either one growls I stop it. And it is getting better, until the young guy gets near me it drives the older one ape shit. I didn't even think of muzzles... that may be a good call. Very good call. If the face to face goes bad I will need to make a trip to the store later today. Hopefully will not need to but if I do so be it. LOL still too tired and road weary to think right now. More coffee...

    Just make sure you have help !!, I use a very different muzzle then you would find at most pet stores but your guys aren't really heavy weight fighters. I don't imagine so the soft slip fit muzzles should work. I use Similar to these http://www.elitek9.com/Leather-Police-Muzzle/productinfo/MZ01/ Always time for more coffee :}

    Yeah I don't like asking anyone for help and try to do everything myself. But called a friend of mine this morning first thing and asked if he could come over at noon when he gets off work. Those are some serious muzzles! Thing that pisses me off is if I end up getting one it will be at some pet store and pay as much, for something that is a third of the quality. And only need for a short time.

    Was just on the deck and a doe and fawn were walking through the woods. Fawn looked like it had just dropped in the last couple of days summer is here. Well with all the road construction figured that out yesterday too. And the bugs at night. North of the Wi. Dells to home sounded like someone was shooting at my windshield so many bugs. If it wasn't O'dark thirty and most gas stations closed would have stopped to clean the windshield off. Truck was clean when I left yesterday.

    It is what it is , I carry an IFAK for both me and the dog on tracks and one of the big things in it is a slip fit muzzle you know a dog gets injured if you have to treat and or carry it out it may not be to happy about it even if they are your dog ... Elite sells some good stuff prices aren't bad other suppliers of the gear I use are very expensive. Most of my leash and tracking gear , collars I have custom made by and Amish leather guy using a product called beta. It is far superior to leather for everything really it does get stiff a little in extreme cold but other then that it is stronger, water and weather impervious available in many different widths and thickness etc. You are not using long lines except for training correct ? How many times have you gotten lol a burn , hand full of mud and muck among other things lol.. A wet rag cleans it and done , it would take a lot to get a burn from it I have let my 30 footer slip 3/4's of it's length and not had a problem. Even if the leash is wet you can grip it .

    I like how he screams first then is calm enough to put it back in the glass jar and then goes back to screaming

    Yep in fact just picked up a new check cord last week, never heard of the beta. Almost took a picture yesterday at a gas station that had signs up buggy parking only for the Amish. Although not so many here as when I was stationed in Lancaster, Pa. Hopefully the new guy will not need the cord for more than the next month or so.

    Have thought about a muzzle before for those very reasons especially pulling porky quills. Thing is when they get quilled it is usually in the face so that wouldn't work. But carrying one for when they get a flapper gash on barbed wire, etc. would be a good idea now that I think about it...

    I remember them well was stationed in Florida several times and family lived there for years. In the winter LOL.

    Mayfly hatches on the Mississippi river rival them that will start in a month or 2, billions of them every night. Which isn't so bad it is a sign of a health ecosystem. They can get so thick on the roadways they bring the snow plows out to clear the roads otherwise it is like driving on ice. But in the summer.

    They even show up on the radar they are so thick.

    I almost stopped for gas and clean the windshield in La Crosse last night but cheaper to keep going and not pay Wi. gas tax so kept going on 90. This a gas station in La Crosse during a hatch.

    Carry Para cord with a squeeze lock you can get the locks from cabelas etc they call them gear locks or some such thing or get one of the surgical tubing tourniquet with lock small enough to get around the quills .. ask me how I know that trick LOL. I also carry two of the speed tourniquets one in my IFAK and one in the dog one the dog one has been cut down for likely use on a dog size leg , tail.
