Yeah, gf has the day off though and is gonna be out doing stuff. Gonna have her just pick up a new liquid cooler probably.

Oh you know, I think you're right. I'll put a temp fan on it and check to see... Corshair has a temp monitoring software as well...thanks for the suggestion. I've had nothing but problems with this third build of mine. Something is constantly happening to it and It's ridiculous.

I've told myself I'd never do a liquid cooled build for that very reason. Seems like they are just way too prone to fail. My friend had a Corsair liquid CPU cooler DoA and I've heard just too many horror stories about the pumps going out on them.

If it's any real comparison, I've been running my i5 3570k overclocked from 3.4Ghz to 4.4Ghz for 2 years on a Cooler Master 212 air cooler and have never seen my temperatures get above 64* even when running Aida 64's 100% stress test.

FYI though, I highly doubt you've done any damage to your CPU. It goes into thermal protection mode long before it damages itself, so you shouldn't have any worries there, especially if it isn't overclocked.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I haven't had any issues with mine.

    Yet.

    :fingerscrossed:

With the streaming and editing I do, I'm always looking at the temp.

Yeah, well I'm thinking about maybe not using liquid cooling anymore. It's so nice and quiet and keeps things so cool. But my first liquid cooler was a corshair as well and after about 4 years I my CPU burnt up and the thermal paste was actually burnt up too. Never bothered testing and trouble shooting if it was the cooler or what, just assumed it was a fluke occurrence because I had never had anything like that happen and bought a new CPU , cooler, and a new surge protector.

The last time I used an air cooler it was my first build and I had a really shitty NZXT case and it got dusty as hell, how well does yours do in that regard? My case now is a corshair with dust covers on the intakes, so I don't think dust would ever really be as much of an issue anyway, just curious.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna install rainmeter and have my temps on my second monitor always up. I never really paid much attention to them other than specific instances where I was worried about temps. For the most part I've never had issues with temps before now. Only time I can think of is when Planetside 2 first came out...that game was so un-optimized it was insane. Even now it'll run your rig pretty hot.

I was at frys yesterday picking up a new cpu fan for my daughter's build and damn some of the demo systems they have look good. I could dig a liquid cooled system but I don't care to mess with it. I suppose my next build for myself I'll splurge and try to upgrade some things. I dig the clean look of a liquid cooled system though.

Mine is sealed. Black tubes. No lights. Nothing fancy. But then again, I have the window of it facing a wall. :anonymous:

I get all my fancy lights from keyboard and mouse.

Same here. Nothing from the case but I have the chroma keyboard/mouse and they change color depending on which hero I pick in OW. Its a pretty neat effect.

Yeah they look sick. I had a buddy who got into liquid cooling when it was first coming out and was a lot more hassle. I don't think I'd ever go full liquid cooling like their demo rigs. I really liked liked just basic liquid CPU coolers, but I've had this cooler for less than a half a year and if It's the issue, I'm gonna be pretty bummed.

It gets dusty, but a quick clean down with a can of air and a soft-bristle brush every couple of months gets it looking good as new.

No doubt a liquid cooler is better in almost every way, I'm just a air cooler guy myself.

Same with mine, haha. Went from a lit up custom build to a basic corshair obsidian case plain jane build. My gf on the other hand is the queen of RBG... Her case is old, but she wants to get a new one and I can't imagine what it'll end up looking like...

Pretty much...I recently got her a corshair RBG mechanical keyboard. I just have a red lit duckyshine 10 keyless board myself. But for her it haaaaaaas to be RBG, it makes everything run faster, even!

Awesome! Was the water cooler pump the culprit?
