I'm talking about the red with inline fuse going to the circuit breaker

 

Ahh gotcha I didn't expand your original quote, I just saw the first picture.

 

The camper shell light was installed that way when they put it on. I need to extend the wire and cut off the inline fuse if I hook it to the fuse block. I left it as is for now.

 

Thanks I melted some wire while I was learning once I knew for sure how to wire everything then I put it in he truck. I had a bad switch once and that scared me. Learned how to use a meter and could double check everything and that helped to ease the anxiety a bit. Now I'm sort of addicted to electric work.

 

The white is coming off the relay and going to the switches. I only had to run those two and a hot wire into the cab.

 

Wish I was that comfortable with wiring. My shit always looks like a rat made a nest.

what meter you got? Looking for something that will be reliable but is also a good value. i fried my 12V "hot" tester:
and havent been able to find replacement fuses and figured a multimeter would be more useful and robust. I just am having trouble justifying a Fluke 115... What are you using?

 

Buy the Fluke, it will serve you well for a long time.

 

If you take your time and read a shit ton of stuff it's really pretty interesting and not too hard and it sure looks cleaner. Ha well the wiring does My engine bay is due for a cleaning

 

I just have multimeter that I picked up years ago. Sorry I'm not much help.

 

Just realized that the past did not include the light bar. I installed a 175w 20 inch Nilight light bar on the front when I did the lights on the rear bumper. I'll grab some photos away from city light and see how these guys do. So far I'm happy with them and the lights for front and back were under 50 bucks I believe plus wire and connectors etc. I feel less than 100 dollars is a pretty good deal for some added visibility.

 

nice! i am in lightbar purchase land too. just need to make sure i get one that will fit the space i want to put it in.

 

They have several sizes and mounting options. I used some oversized washers to give the stock bumper a little more support to hold this on. This bumpers going to go once I pay off the truck soon.

 

my fluke 70 series is over 20 years old now, well worth the money spent on it

lots on ebay for sale used and they can still be repaired

 

What size wire do you have running to and from that circuit breaker? 100A should have 4Ga.
