Do yourself a favor and don't, put loctite on. Put anti seize on all the threads and a little around the hub. The rears you can use the eBrake to torque your nuts. The fronts, put a flat head in the vents on the disc brake and jam it against the caliper to hold in place while you torque. 85ft#'s, and go around twice, I guarantee they'll be tight you do it this way.

 

So I have 4 TPMS sensors and my spare does not have one. Tired of my light being on always, if I add a TPMS sensor to that spare will that even work to get the light off? Does anyone here not have sensors on their truck? What did you do about your dash light?

 

I thought they all had tpms? Did you try resetting the light? There should be a button near your glove box I think

Sounds like the batteries in one or more of your sensors is out. You will have to either replace all four of your sensors or, what I did, put some electric tape over the dash light.

I have tried this a couple times when I first got the truck, the dealer I bought it from cleared the light before I bought it but before I made it home the light came on. When I reset it last time, it came back on after some amount of miles. They keep telling me that a new sensor on the spare would remedy it...but they could not guarantee that it would work.

Pretty much what I've been doing...I have an air compressor in the truck so even if I do end up with a flat somewhere's I can fix it no problem...(hasn't happened yet...knock on wood.)

 

Who ever told you that at the dealer is fucking stupid.

 

I believe discount tire told me that first when I bought my wheels/tires as well as the Toyota service dept @ autonation. Overall they just wanted to sell me more crap surely.

 

If they wanted to do it right, they would have replaced all existing sensors with new, cleared the programming, then programmed in new sensors. Usually the dealer can do that better since they have vehicle specific tech stream, but they charge more.

 

When they told me it would be about $80-100 per sensor I was like FUUUUUCCCCKKKK THAAAATTT! I have eyes that can see if my tires are flat

 

@ChadsPride and I are going to ride bikes down at Town Lake this Wednesday 6/14 around 4-430pm.... throwing this out there for anyone who wants to meet and ride with us. Id like to do Slaughter Creek Trail soon, maybe the next wed. Its even truck related since they would be used to haul da bikes

 

Good friend of mine is an Aggie and has the stickers on his truck. Every once and awhile I'll ask if they allow him to park in the handicapped spaces. His wife laughs, I laugh, he just shakes his head. Good times.

A bike is on my wish list... I'd love to go. Haven't biked since I lived in Hawaii.
