I'm surprised that the drug lords haven't tried smuggling drugs across the border in Tacoma's coming from Mexico.

Why doesn't Toyota just hire people off the forums ? I mean everyone seems to know better than the company themselves ! I'll take my royalty check for this idea and accept no responsibility over the people hired... :anonymous:

How Mexico’s Unions Sell Out Autoworkers:

Wage contracts are inked years before plants open and workers never get a say.

So-called protection contracts— agreements negotiated between a company and a union that doesn’t legitimately represent workers—are illegal in the U.S. and Germany. But Lance Compa, a senior lecturer at Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, says they’re standard operating procedure in Mexico, where deals are cut factory by factory rather than collectively across a company or industry.

Experts say this is a primary reason that wages in the auto sector have stagnated in recent years, despite a fresh wave of investments by foreign car makers, most recently by German and Japanese manufacturers. Mexico’s union bosses and politicians are more interested in keeping corporations happy than in raising the living standards of workers, Covarrubias argues. “Protection contracts are a way to keep wages artificially low,” he says.

Driving a vehicle manufactured by people making peasant wages just doesn't feel right .

While getting my 2004 Land Cruiser serviced at Toyota today, I test drove another 2017 Tacoma TRD OR and 4Runner OR back to back.

You can just feel the superior quality in the 4Runner compared to the Tacoma. The fit and finish was more refined. The 4Runner drove better too in my opinion.

Then I sat in a 2017 200 series Land Cruiser and started thinking about how many of my body organs I have to sell to buy one :D

    I dont follow?

I was at toyota today and the said the same thing.

if youre talking about an import tax.... I would gladly pay a little more for a truck that has the badge of quality behind it... I have had so...... many issues with my taco. the people at the dealership laugh when i come in and they are super nice about it but they are like youre one of many with the 3rd gens

The chicken tax is a old tax that adds 25% tax to the price of the vehicle.
