What do you do to make extra money?

I'm looking for ideas to make money on the side. I work full time, so it would have to work around those hours. My dad does ebay, and sells stuff for more than he pays at garage sales and what not. I was thinking about uber, but I'd be pissed if anyone hurt my truck (especially puking in it). So let's hear what you all do?

 

Id avoid uber like the plague. People need help moving all the time. A guy with a truck is worth worlds to them if they can lift and work for cheaper than a rental and professional mover. Just ask for half up front and half when the job is done.

 

Not 100% sure but I don't think uber allows trucks for whatever reason. But wouldn't be a bad side gig in Vegas.

 

I've hauled things to the dump for people as well. Usually it's for friends and I get paid with beer.

 

Had a friend with a double cab tundra who drove for both Uber and Lyft on the side. Unless they've recently changed their policy.

 

I do my day job on the side, but generally get paid much better. $60-100 an hour is sweet, but the work is not very consistent so the day job stays priority.

sysadmin by day , and sysadmin + welder/fabricator/mechanic on the side. I stay busy

 

I'm a millwright so I do repairs and fabrication. Problem is I make too much at my day job to make side jobs very profitable anymore. I am better off picking up an extra shift. People are always looking for a deal, just look to the group buy phenomenon on TW. In my experience those looking for a deal all the time have no concept of value so no matter what I charge it is always too much or they are so demanding it is no longer worth my time at any price. I am really picky at what jobs I pick up anymore.

Here are a few Projects I have done lately. Water wagon, adjustable pallet forks, snowplow and aluminum bed frame. I also do motorcycle work, paint and general repairs and modifications.

 

Not a bad idea, but if any damage got done to their furniture or to the house, even if it wasn't your fault, they might sue or otherwise hold you liable.
What skills do you have? You might be able to use them for a side job.
Me? Gigolo. Amazing how many women want 66 yr old fat guys for escorts.
Seriously, though, like exracer2, before retiring, I made way more money with overtime than any side job.

Perhaps, or like I said, they could have changed it. He would make a good 3-400 a week after gas in a Tundra doing it 3 nights a week thur-sat.

 

Not bad for getting paid to drive your own car around.

They definitely do in the midwest, we used Uber a few times and every time it was a truck that picked us up...once it was a huge, lifted Silverado lol.

Here on the west coast though you never see trucks doing Uber or Lyft, probably because of how expensive gas is out here. Or maybe it's a regional policy thing

 

I'm a graphic designer by day. Do web design on the side. Side gigs are not reliable. But it's always nice to have some extra cash to spend on my truck.

 

Car repair on the side a couple days out of the week. Some motorcycle repair. Also find some crappy cars on Craigslist, fix them and flip em. Takes a while but if I can make money on it I'll do it

 

I used to be a full-time freelance commercial photographer, but a couple years ago I got hired to shoot full-time in house for a fashion brand and have worked there since. I freelance on the side now for truck mod $$$

 

auto glass installation on the side. pretty much only for spring/summer but the pay is decent for the little time spent on a windshield

 

Work on website, database/server stuff.

Good money if you're tech savvy.

 

My "full-time" job is on the weekends (Sunday delivery for USPS) and my two part time jobs that pay more are working for a plumber as his helper and an arborist as his "lowering man".
