Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Wipe it down with a paint thinner first, prime it with an oil based primer, lacquer it, then paint it, then spar urethane. Just a thought, but the oil in the Ipe won't hold the paint well. And the prep is going to be the key. Everything I've read says to sand it first with a 40-60 grit paper.

No, I haven't. If you have some test pieces available I would try it out on that first. That's just a culmination from different readings. You basically don't paint the Ipe itself; you sandwich the paint between two layers.

Electrical code says an outlet every 12 feet... outlets have to be reachable in 6 feet. I'm remodeling my master bath and will have cabinets sunk into a wall (I built a second wall in front to give me about 7 inches of cabinet depth). I will put outlets inside these cabinets for charging the razor and for the GF's hair dryer, etc. Trying to keep all that crap from living on the counter.

So my question is: do the outlets in the cabinet meet the distance requirements, or do they have to be exposed on the wall face? Weird situation but I was wondering if anyone knows?

Best bet is to ask your electrical inspector.
However, the spacing rules do no apply to walls with cabinets, hallways, etc.
    You should be fine.

High-quality sawdust. Are those for the window exterior side casings?

I missed what the siding will be. Lap or shingle, butted against those? Neither seems to make aesthetic sense for the mod style of the house thought. :notsure:

    Oh, or board and batten.

The whole length of the 14' high back wall is metal , the roofing will basically go to the peak and turn 90 and become the siding on the back wall , so basically the roof returns down the wall

The wing walls on either end are the inverse of that concept where the 2x6 Fir t&g decking that is the "ceiling" go up to the peak and then turn 90 and return down the wall , so basically the ceiling returns down the wall (this also happens as the interior wall finish in the living room area)

The rest of the walls are a 1x6 horizontal channel siding that is charcoal coloured to mimic the burnt larch siding thats all the rage in modern European houses right now , plus there is one band of vertical 1x6 clear cedar t&g that groups 3 windows together across the front wall

Window trims are clear cedar with a clear stain finish on them , windows are black , siding inside and outside corner trims are siding colour

Siding nails will be a checkered head , ring shank stainless steel hand nail

You know , just the regular stuff you always do

    Ah, hundreds of times o_O

Kinda hard to picture all that together, but I'm sure it will be cool, and the stark contrast will really show off the natural wood.

With an effect something like this, color wise, and rotated 90 degrees. Sorta

    Its channel siding

    http://www.realcedar.com/siding/profiles/lap-channel/

I'd never heard the term "dutch lap" before so I looked it up and it seems that the dutch lap profile is slightly different than channel but they are essentially the same with regard to the way the boards install with a shiplap style joint
