I learned an interesting lesson today, take photos when the opportunity presents itself.

These little guys were gone this afternoon when I walked the same path.

I started off never using a filter. When I started really getting into photography I found that some filters are just a "must have" in your bag. I love shooting wide open when photographing people. I just love that bokeh and DOF I can get. However wide open means lots of light in. Now obviously you can correct that with shutter speed, but having a ND filter allows you to get a much better balance of COLOR that you lose many times when shutter speed is too high.

Been a while since I've been in here! Probably the not owning a Tacoma anymore thing, haha.

I made a massive upgrade yesterday.

    That said, anyone want a 7D or a Tokina 11-16 f2.8?

Nice upgrade! I guess the Tokina is an APS-C? I had pretty good luck with my tokina telephoto, but since I went to full frame, it sits idle.

Yep. It will of course mount to EF and shoot, but will be soft at the edges and only useable at 15-16 ish. I loved the lens on my crop sensor though.

    A few shots

Is that in Gogebic County? (Please say yes!)

Many moons ago, main roads that entered the county had Indian head signs welcoming you. Are there any left? If so, where are they? I'll be in Houghton, but will make a side trip to see one.

It's just nostalgia for me... but long ago (early 80s?), my dad was up there for work and met the man who hand carved the signs. He made him two. I have them both now. I would love to see one if there's any still around!

    (This one is approx 2'x2')

yep, watersmeet is eastern Gogebic County. The Indian head signs are still around but over in ironwood, bessemer, wakefield. They are really unique to that area.
