Good afternoon all. Busy day driving for the dealership. Heading on a road trip to Connecticut tomorrow. Son and wife want to go to the Elephants trunk Flea Market that is highlighted on Flea market flip o_O:facepalm:. I'd rather stay home and do :washing:....

But you're going, anyway, right? Got to keep the family happy!
    Hiya, Sue.

Just got a battery powered weed whacker. I wasn't sure how well such a thing would work and really didn't want to waste the money on a dud. Surprisingly, it works quite well as long as no brush cutting is needed. It's light, battery charges quickly, the string on this particular model is .095 so has some cutting ability up to quarter inch diameter stem.
I just couldn't stand fighting with the gas trimmer anymore, it was too heavy for my back even with a strap, and ran inconsistently.
    That's my mini-review.

    Evening all:
That sounds like a pretty good battery powered weed whacker Joe. I just got done with some heavy duty weed whacking, 3 1/2 hrs. on Wed, then needed to re spool the string and get gas, back at it on Thurs for another 1 1/2 hrs.

:woot:Feel like I hit the lottery, found a new, or like new, 4 1/2" jointed Rebel minnow on e-bay that is the color we caught almost all the walleyes and other fish on at the local lake. Very hard to find, and I an constantly watching for one to pop up which isn't very often.
Think I mentioned this before, when they stopped making that particular color we went to a place that had them mixed in with the new color. We bought 22 of them, I got 10 and the guy I fished with got 12, he doesn't have any left but I still have at least 10 because I have been able to find a few here and there to replace the ones that I lose, believe me, I almost cry when I lose one of those lures! :(

    You'll have a good time

I like my gas one but good to know the battery ones are decent

My problem with the gas trimmer I have may be brand-related.

Congratulations on the lure find. Out of curiosity, wonder why the manufacturer would quit making a particular color?

My neighbor gave me a Stihl gas trimmer a few years back. Adjusted the carb a week ago, ran better. Has the plastic fingers I call them and I can fit some heavy line too, after I asked about that feature. )

They all do it, I constantly see guys looking for specific color lures on walleye central. I learned a long time ago, if a certain color lure seems to work better than others, stock up on it! Rebel had a huge selection of lure colors at one time for the jointed minnows, today I think they are down to three, silver w/black back, silver w/blue back, and gold w/black back. The one I look for is the original gold w/black back, which is way different than the gold one they replaced it with.
I think they made the color change about 30 or more years ago and I've been watching for them ever since at flea markets, auctions, yard sales, and now on the computer, tons of other colors but very few of what I'm looking for.

Yep, I noticed the limited color selection.

Mike, no guarantees going the other way? ;)

Going up and spending the night. Cousin is coming down from East Granby to meet up Saturday night. Flea market opens at 4:30 AM for vendors and early birds and 5:30 AM for anyone crazy enough to be up that early.

Hello all! I have'nt been around since April, with the new job, I can't get on like I used to.
Been doing a lot of traveling recently for business. Was in Reno in March, and Long Beach a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how anybody can live in LA. Apologies to anyone here who lives there, but I absolutely hate it there, as well as most of So. Cal. Too many people and cars! I'll be back to both Reno & Long Beach again in August, hopefully I can win some in Reno.

    Aloha!

    Morning all:

I used to hit a local flea market pretty steady, better be there EARLY or most of the good reasonably priced stuff is gone!
Gotten to the point where guys are walking around with flashlights as people are setting up in the dark and asking if they have any fishing or hunting stuff as they are setting up!
Ken, buy all the fake diamonds you can, a woman just sold a fake diamond she bought for $15 at a flea market 30 yrs. ago for $450k, it was a real diamond! :)
DUH to whoever got rid of it!
