You also need to add in that when you start drinking in the morning you aren't an alcoholic you're a pirate.

Use that one when we are out on the water early or on a cruise and in Mexico real early drinking on the beach.

A pirate walks in to a bar with a steering wheel on his crotch.

The bartender asks, "Why do you have a steering wheel on your crotch?"

The pirate responds, "Arrrgggg.....It's driving me nuts."

You don't have to be a pirate. This is an old myth and circulated around the Navy for years before the damn internet proved it wasn't true. Was posted in the Chiefs mess on one of the ships I was on, but is inspiration for all LOL:

The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) as a combat vessel carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for her crew of 475 officers and men. This was sufficient to last 6 months of sustained operations; she carried no evaporators. On 22 July 1798, the USS Constitution set sail from Boston.

She left with 475 men, 48,600 gallons of water, 7,400 cannon shots, 11,600 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum. Her mission - to harass British shipping. Making Jamaica on 6 October, she took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum.

Then she headed for the Azores, arriving on 12 November. She provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine.

On 18 November she set sail for England. In the ensuing days she defeated five British Man of War and captured and scuttled 12 English Merchant ships, salvaging only the rum.

By 27 January, her powder and shot were exhausted. Unarmed, she made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde. Her Raiding Party captured a whiskey distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons aboard by dawn. Then she headed home.

The USS Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799 with no cannon shot, no food, no rum, no wine, no whiskey and 48,600 gallons of stagnant water.

It's been awhile since I did a brisket. It takes a lot of comittment! We're having a party tomorrow and are expecting about 17 people. Original plan was ribs, but figured it was time for brisket. Picked up this 14+ pound specimen and will get it going tonight.

Spent most of the day pressure washing the deck and getting other stuff ready. Went to get my smoker supplies ready and I can't find my Maverick thermometer transmitter, so I'll be winging it. What am I going to do with a receiver?

Nice brisket. I picked one up for tomorrow and I'm going to try out my A-Maze-N pellet maze. I probably should figure how to use it.

Lol. Did you make pellet dust? I have the tube and the only way I can keep it smoldering is if I mix in pellet dust with the pellets. Good luck!

No dust but I can grind some up a little. What rub did you use? I was thinking about salt, pepper and garlic for a change. Thoughts?

In addition to what's listed below I added a tablespoon of black pepper and some smoked paprika (about 1/2 tblsp or so, just 'cause I had it laying around).

I also inject it. Beef stock, Worcestershire, onion and garlic powder. Ill wrap it in peach paper at the stall. I'm tired of dry brisket, dammit!

I have just enough inventory left to rub down a rack of ribs and I'm going to need some pictures to rebuild a webpage...what the hell. Let's cook some ribs tomorrow!
