That's the "rocky hill of doom" at Anza. I bent the lower control arm of my old Xterra there years ago. Squeeked so bad you could here me coming a mile away. Used a frame puller to somewhat straighten it, but was never the same. Did you do the stream crossing through the reeds/trees? That always reminds me of the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland.

Thanks! I like them a lot, and that's coming from a dedicated kbro2 guy. This was the first time I stepped outside of bfg, and aside from being louder than bfg a/t ko's they pretty much blow them away but I have zero science to back up that claim except when I grass track these I can't seem to get them to break free. I try to keep my controls in order, so every time I grass track a truck to evaluate tire performance I poke the grass with my finger to gauge how saturated the terrain is. Then I proceed to bomb a privately owned grass hillside... if I close my eyes I can pretend I'm back home in SoCal, somewhere in the imperial desert. Anyway I never need 4x4 where as with ko's I would lose traction predictably (on an 01 Tacoma but fuck scientific control it's still a Tacoma) and at3's, I could break them free. Also this is the first tire I've had that has the word "carcass" stamped on the side and that shit is straight up metal. This is literally what happens when you let a Norwegian black metal band design an off-road tire.

Also. I think your truck choice is dope. Best configuration ever.

I'm "anal" about keeping my truck clean but it's great to see forum members using their trucks as "trucks were meant to be used!" Really enjoyed the pics....especially the OP!

Thanks dude! I totally agree and I've been super happy with my truck. Black wasn't my first choice but it's really starting to grow on me, and I think it looks best on the SR trim. I'm trying to decide what tires to get once the shitty stock hankooks wear out and those are definitely on the short list

Oh yeah buh, even stopped and cooled our feet down. From what I heard from some old timers there that trail up to sheeps canyon changes with use. I managed to get up there without damage but i put the fella in the picture out front and made sure I didn't slam anything.but I still want to get sliders and LCA skids.

Looks like fun. Been years since I've been out there. The landscape definitely changed a bit from when I was last there - these were taken in 2008ish? Can't wait to get the Taco out there.
