What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I was trying to keep the 03 hood and grill. So that's a no?

 

Not going to fit.

With that said, fenders and hoods are very reasonably priced. Shop around and you could find all 3 for less than $300.

 

My 00 fenders fit my 01-04 conversion perfect. All I changed was hood, grill, headlights and kept my same fenders.

I think it depends if it's prerunner/4x4 or if it's base

 

You can always rasise it to just below the body line 1/2", nice clean look with SS tip,

 

Any of you guys ever remove an alarm system?

I replaced my turn signal relay today, and this is what my dash vomited out at me.

Pro quality install, for sure.

 

Looks like the installer went to the Jerry-Rigg university of automotive knowledge.

I'd get an OEM wiring diagram and match colors.

 

i want a remote start in the t4r, but i'm scared that local installers will do this.

Yep, at some point I just need to treat it like cancer surgery and slowly cut it out of the harness. Thankfully, the alarm wiring is pretty obvious due to the sweet clamp-on-wire connections.

Yeah, I think I'd rather tackle a stereo, alarm or any other electrical job myself after seeing this.

 

I started taking the head off my 3rz to put a new head gasket in.It is so long since I've been on here I can't even figure out how to post pictures.

 

I found out how too now, I haven't drove this truck in over a year, I hope it's the gasket and not the head. I'm going to put my header on I've had for a couple of years...I hope

 

Any of you guys uninstalled a k&n and went to a stock intake set up? I'm having trouble removing this adapter piece that goes from my maf into the k&n filter. It has to come off but I don't wanna yard on it and break the maf. It's the piece on the right in the photo

 

Anyone here disabled the DRLs on a 2002? Is it a pain in the balls?

Was the relay behind the driver side knee panel, @stumbles?

 

theres a big ridge on that side of maf so its on tight but you should be able to work it off. its just slipped on there.

 

Well getting ready for tomorrow mornings LBJ and outer tie rod replacement. Should be fun....(lord have mercy on my sciatic nerve)

 

Today I washed, clay barred and waxed it. Took off the janky front mud flaps and added a sticker.

 

Thats super easy
