Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I guarantee this tune will come with requirements for 91/93octane.

We've revved the 2GR bottom end consistently to 7400.

A potential drawback would be that for maximum gains / benefit 91 octane or better would be required.

 

I dont think most people looking for more power will mind. At least not me. Please keep us updated on dyno and testing result. Looking forward to it.

When does your product come to market? Estimate on price point?

 

We don't have a set price point yet, but we expect it will be similar in price to our other toyota tune kits.
once we get a car on the dyno and get out remote tools out to our our remote tester.

Our kits will allow you to flash your vehicle from home, no need to remove the ECU.

We may also consider a bench flash option if people want to send us their ECU for a lesser fee.

 

Interested to see what kind of power and torque gains can be made, also to see the effect on fuel mileage.
Also, I never understood why these tuners don't do what a SMARTY does for diesels.

Will You be able to tune the shift points? Kinda like the shift sence... but built into ECU.

This is the only option I would ever consider. I know the stock tune from Toyota is all EPA bullshit. I would love to have all the power available. Waiting (impatiently) for dyno results.

 

OP are you stating it as fact that Toyota will not be able to detect the ECU was flashed? Is there not a non-volatile byte that increments every time a flash is performed, regardless if it's to your tune or back to OE? This was a big concern for us on Ford forums.

It's like a box with a red ball in it. You can open the box and replace it with a green ball. You can then reopen it to remove the green ball and put the red one back in, but unbeknownst to you the box was counting how many times it was opened.

Since this is your specialty please speak to this some more.
