So I had new u bolts made today in preparation for installing my 5100's and AAL. Had them made by a local spring shop, they look great but they aren't completely straight, like if you lay one of them down on a flat surface they don't lay completely flat, like a bent pair of glasses, very slight but seemed weird to me.
I'm sure they will straighten when installed, but it's my first time doing this so I figured I'd ask.

    Pretty much stock right now
I've only used manufactured u bolts, which were relatively flat. The way everything fits together, it would seem that it would not make a huge difference, but I can't say for certain. Could be a problem lining everything up though. Can you try flatting them in a vise or with a heavy hammer? Be sure to protect the threads though by putting the nuts on before banging on them.

I am sure you will be fine.

Then it all depends on your measurement of very slight !

Might just have been that section of Rod had a slight bend in that area from being secured .

If your really worried take it back.

You're going to have a little challenge lining up the holes in the shock plate with the threaded ends of the u-bolts.

I would imagine pretty much the same way. Possibly with different stock and machinery, which may be more precise.

As already mentioned, lining them up could be the biggest problem. Might have to tweak them to get them through the plates.

    OP,
Are you installing a u-bolt flip kit?

Just put them on and don't worry about it if the bend is "very slight". They'll pull straight. If they're bent enough that you can't get them through the holes on the shock mount/plate then the bend is more than "very slight"

No, just new shocks and AAL, so I got new ones, the bend is very slight so I'm sure they'll straighten out. And if they don't want to line up we can tweak on them, had them made at a automotive spring shop that's been in business for 60+ years so I'm sure they're fine
