Oooh, I really like that color scheme!! I hope it turns out as well on my truck!

Yeah that's what I'm going to do. My plotter is in Pennsylvania right now (as are all my materials) but I'm gonna have to get my friend who is coming out here to bring the scraps and some of my rolls.

One word my friend: strategic placement.;) I'm absolutely planning to cover my highway-inflicted hood chip and the offroading-inflicted flare chip.

Thought about doing black multicam for my truck, but figured it's too damn expensive

Thats cool. The things you find out in the desert. I wonder if they'd give you a package deal on the Rover and the old suitcase it came in?

Did you tow it back? Call PD to verify it isn't reported stollen? You can get the abandon paperwork filed and in 90 days it's all yours.

    You can bracket it...

If it has a VIN at the base of the windshield it is post '79,

    No VIN on WS = '71 to '79 , VIN present, '79 to '85

I don't think it's a defender so the VIN should start SALLB.

    I want one too.:anonymous:

@MaverickTRD yea price estimating these are tough, a little random history or something can really help fetch a higher number, but generally speaking series trucks are not too expensive, from looking at some pictures and searching the webs I wanna say it is a possibly a 1971 truck but not in any way positive

if you can get the vin numbers off the motor chassis etc you can easily email land rover and they will send you production info from their records, they get that a lot from people restoring these around the world

rarely do you see series trucks north of 20k, not saying they do not exist, just that it is normally a 5k-18k kinda truck

where as a defender, rarely are they found under 20k, again yes some are under but rarely, and typically sell in the 25k-50k figure range

obviously cars exist beyond +/- my estimated figures

yea for sure, if you have the tools and the time for spinning a few wrenches, these are pretty easy cars to flip it seems

Morning fellas! So I've decided that I'm done messing around with my '97 Cherokee that has almost 250k on it and it's time to get rid of it and get a Tacoma. The dealerships down here suck and I'd rather drive up to Phoenix to buy one. Opinions?

River view? Pretty sure a TW member works there. I used Big2 with no complaints, but worked with the internet sales manager

Thats the way to go, no matter which dealership you use. You know what you want, work with the Internet sales manager, and get it all setup, then you can come up, test drive, and drive away in style.
