WB7SXF here Just getting back into the hobby myself. Pretty much go solo, not a member of any clubs. Sometimes on the Queen Anne (146.9600), Cougar Mtn (146.4750) or Mercer Island (147.1600) repeaters on 2m or the 70 cm SeaTac (443.1000) or Seattle (444.7000, 444.4250, 444.5500) repeaters if I'm on the road. No base station. Good luck on the exam, and check out the HAM/BS thread here:

I'm thinking blast and powder coat color match, desert sand mica. Anything else but black looks weird. I know a guy for powder.

Pistol size stuff you can do in a toaster oven, so that's easy. Can't exactly to a barreled action that way though. So I'm thinking about finding a free craigslist oven to steal the elements out of, and then just building something thats big enough where you could bake bumpers and sliders.

Find me one worth upgrading to and I'll donate my 20yr old oven that still works.

By worth I mean cheap as fuck

Get a silicon sealer and spread it over the seams. Will last longer and seal better than duct tape IMO. Bit late now but does the HF one come with the foam to put between each joint? That's how my TP Tools cabinet seals itself and I haven't had any leaks.

PS if you plan to use a shop vac (and I do recommend it as it makes seeing a ton better) get a 5 gallon bucket, some PVC fittings and small section of pipe, drill an inlet and outlet hole in the bucket, fill bucket with ~3" of water, cut pipe so its ~2-3" above the water on the side that connects to the cabinet (on the vacuum side I just have a 90 under the lid so its not sucking towards the water (even though its ~8 inches away), then connect hoses to cabinet and vacuum. The bucket and water will collect a lot of the dust and particles and save the filter and motor. Also is nice if you do a lot of wood working too!

Good luck on the oven for powder coating. Im still looking for a double oven to convert toa large single. Won't be big enough for bumpers or anything but anything that big and Ill make someone else do it anyways.
